Can't Get Enough Of: Kaushal Beauty

 Kaushal Beauty

It has been on my mind forever to write posts about current favourite blogs and videos, but whittling it down to the top 5 or top 10 is very hard, instead I am just going to be picking one every so often and dedicating a whole post to them. This post is purely dedicated to Kaushal a vlogger and blogger that goes by the name 'Kaushal Beauty', she posts a variety of makeup tutorials, hair tutorials and hauls. You watch one video of her's and instantly fall in love with everything about her...

1. She's an Indian just like me, and we Indians have a mutual bond because the things we say are very relate able. I love that she posts GRWM for Indian weddings, as I am always struggling on how to do my makeup most recently I was inspired by this one! I loved her makeup, even though I couldn't recreate it perfectly, I tried my very best!

2. She is the contouring queen! Contouring, highlighting all that jazz goes in one ear and out the other for me, something that I just can't seem to get my head around no matter how many videos or blog posts I read. Kaushal on the other hand, I seem to be able to learn from, maybe it is because of her gentle voice and simple steps which makes it easier for you to understand. She also uses a lot of budget friendly products like the Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow in delicious, who would have ever thought that you can use eye shadow to contour, but it bloody works! I would highly recommend watching this video and you will ask no more question ever again.

3. Her positivity is insane! I also follow her on twitter (such a stalker I know!) and every day the first tweet that she tweets is a positive thought/feeling and it amazes me that everything she says is 100% true and something we should stick by.

4. She also recently did an interview on BBC Asian Network, and when I heard it on the radio a part of me screamed a little. You can listen to it here and find out more about her, her thoughts on everything to do with life and just have a little laugh!

5. She is just all around amazing, I watch every single video of hers and it puts a big big smile on my face and not a lot of vloggers manage to do that. I highly recommend you check out her links below, but a warning you will be hooked straight away.  Kaushal goes into my category of 'underrated people on the internet' people who aren't given enough credit for what they do and also someone who isn't bothered about the numbers and loves what she does!

Rush Haircare Review

Hair products aren't something that I use very often, but when I do I like to use good ones and ones that I know I can trust. I've recently been trying some products from RUSH and have fallen in love with. RUSH is a brand that has comes from a chain of family run hair salons and with over 60 salons open they really know their stuff and what is best for your hair. They have also recently started to sell in Marks and Spencer's which is great because high end hair brands are really hard to get hold of and been in M&S means it is much easier to get a hold of.

Rush Haircare Review

You can never have enough bottles of hairspray, because even when you don't think you need it you always do. Sometimes it will be for your hair and sometimes its a ladder in your tights - crisis! The RUSH hairspray is all about creating a flexible and soft feel whilst still making it long lasting. I have always found some hair-sprays eg VO5 to be very damaging to my hair not only do they feel really sticky but my hair feels awful and dry the next day. Whereas this hairspray contains vitamins that help to reduce the damage in your hair and help with split ends. Similar to the root gel that I talk about below it also has a citrus smell that is good enough to eat (please don't). With short hair I love wearing a little plait on the side but it always move around when I used this hairspray it lasted all day and the little baby hairs didn't move around!

This was the first thing I was instantly drawn to it claims to 'provide volume and style support to strengthen the hair'. It is recommended to apply a small amount of the gel to towel dry hair and then blow dry for added volume.
Upon using the pump the first thing I noticed was the smell - the product smells like a citrus juice in a gel form, hints of orange came through to me as well as being quite floral. Nice smelling products mean good ones right? I applied it into my roots and then turned my head upside down to blow-dry it, there was a little bit stickiness at first but then after a god blow dry it all disappeared into my hair and when I flipped it over my hair was full of extra volume something that doesn't happen very often with my stick straight hair. The picture above shows my hair after being blow-dryed and straightening and there is still volume left in.

I am extremely pleased with both of these products and think that for the price they are amazing!
The next thing on my list is definitely the dry shampoo and the volume spray..

Primark Haul!

After such a long time, I managed to make a cheeky little trip to Primark to see what they had on offer and as usual I didn't manage to walk out empty handed. I didn't pick up a lot of things but have fallen head over heels for the things I did find! Some of them are things that I can't stop wearing and using!

RefMe: Referencing Made Easy

RefMe

As you go through your school year essay writing becomes a chore and something that no one likes to do no matter how 'fun' you try and make it. Long nights and stressful deadlines don't help either and the worst thing is when you have to reference the entire thing, me being me always forgets to reference as I go along. This is mainly because there are so many different way to reference which way is the right way!!! Where do what go? What do you include? Well, now all of our problems when it comes to referencing has come to end all thank you to this amazing site called 'RefMe' the app and website that allows to you to scan and create your references and bibliography. All you have to do is sign up and your done! As an example I have used my ongoing A2 English Coursework Piece..
RefMe

This site it's self is pretty self explanatory, everything is clear to see and the method of inputting each reference is easy as well. If you have several essays on the go at the same time you can split it up into different titles and that won't get you confused either, I titled the first one I created for my A2 English Investigation Coursework. After that I went on to start adding the sources that I used, the first thing I added was a website and it found all the information from the article straight away, the date I went on it, the author everything.
RefMe
If you use books the site enables you to just search for the author or the title and then finds all the details, this is the greatest benefit of the entire site in my opinion. Because it saves you having to find all the details manually and write each section up. Another benefit is that there seems to be a whole library full of resources built into their system so if there is a piece of information you can't remember then this will do the work for you.
Not only is there a lot of resources buy also it allows you to reference anything whether it is just a chapter, a speech, a song or even a map the resources that sometimes make it difficult to write a final bibliography.
Once everything is into the system you just have to click export and you have all your bibliographies and references at your hand.
Don't you just love it when sites like RefMe.com also come in app form? The app is available on both Google Play and iTunes and allows you to sync it with anything you do on the website. That way if the savvy student inside you finds something when you aren't near a computer or even you can scan it and then research it later. Genius,

This whole process has been simple and quick, from finding the resource I needed to use to exporting it out into the document of my essay. Compared to any programme like Microsoft Word this is something more.

If you are currently sat there kicking yourself because you had no idea as to why you haven't used this before or even heard of this then now is your chance to change everything around and start using it! Let me know if you do, because for me it is a life changer and saver!

Spring/Summer Nail Edit '15

Summer Nail Edit

Oh BarryM, stop stealing my heart every so often with a new release. When I heard that they were brining out a range called 'Speedy' and it guaranteed to dry instantly? I was hooked. I waited a little while after they got released to see what other people thought of them, and then afterwards I popped into Superdrug and they were on offer for 2 for £7 - I basically couldn't resist and ended up buying 4, my favourite four shades. The shades I picked up, are ones that I think will be perfect for the spring and summer, they are bold and bright!

The Not So Good Ones

These things are NOT worth splashing the cash on ...
products not worth buying

I try to always love the products I buy, I mean I bought them with my money so the last thing I want is for them to go to waste, right? But sometimes there are things that I just don't get along with and that I need to vent about because they are just really really bad. Then again, things that I hate you might love, things you love, I might hate..so everyone is different and I think that makes shopping and new releases from brands exciting because everyone reacts in a different way.

Simple Oil Balancing Wipes // I love Simple, and all their products especially their makeup wipes because they are the best things when you are lazy or tired. When I saw these Oil Balancing ones for offer in the Supermarket a few weeks ago I was sold because surely that are just like their normal wipes but better for oily skin? No, not all. These are honestly horrible and I had to use three to get my makeup off, instead of just one like I normally do. That wasn't the only thing after having them for a week and closing the sticker bit correctly, the bottom few wipes had dried out? At first you could say this is my fault, but I seal the sticker every night to ensure they don't get dry - so it became harder to use them.

VO5 Give Me Texture // The main reason as to why I didn't get along with this texturing spray is because I don't think it is for my hair type; straight and short. The first time I went to use it, I loved the smell and the first feel and look it had on my hair but then after a few hours of spraying it, my hair became really itchy and irritable. It was awful, and I have never used anything like it...So then one weekend I curled my hair and thought I would use it then to see if it works better in curly hair, but it fact it was worse - you could see the spray and it looked like dandruff.

Collection Work The Lip Butter //  I wanted to love this so bad, lip crayons are my favourite thing, they are easy to use and apply and feel super silky on the lips. When budget brand Collection brought one out I was excited to try it out and see how it lived up to the others, The shade range is limited to 4, the one I picked up was 'Vintage Rose' and seemed like a pretty coral, but muted pink. Instead it came out like a barbie pink and really washed me out.

Models Own Hyper Gel// Another product I was super excited about and couldn't wait to use it, the hype and interest around these new formula nail polishes from Models Own was unreal and I waited for a while to buy them, before getting them in a blog sale. Thank heavens I didn't pay full price for them because personally, they are not worth it. I love the BarryM gelly polishes so much, and these don't compare at all - far too thick and a gloopy formula that chips as soon as you put it on. I don't recommend these, instead buy BarryM!!!

Apologies for the rambly post, but I wanted to really get to the nitty gritty! What did you think of these products - love them or hate them?
