You know when you find THE foundation, well I think that's what has happened with me. I love my current foundations and I am still using them on a daily basis but there was something about the YSL All Hours that has captured my heart. Its fast become my go to 'full coverage, flawless' base and for some great reasons too.The oil-free formula gives a matte look throughout the day and helps to reduce the appearance of pores. The formula is enriched with a skincare complex and UV filter leaving skin looking fresh and smooth.• Full coverage• Flawless matte finish• 24hour long-wear• Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin• Dermatologically tested• Non-comedogenic• SPF 20 / PA +++YSL uses the following descriptions in all foundation shade names:• B or “BEIGE” is best for neutral undertones• BD or “BEIGE DORÉ” is best for warm undertones• BR or “BEIGE ROSÉ” is best for cool undertones
This foundation really does live up to its claims. For me, this is one of the few foundations that gets better as the day goes along, it almost melts with your skin and gives you this gorgeous flawless yet none cakey look. I have oily skin but nothing that some blotting can't fix throughout the day, but if you have super oily skin then this might just come straight off.
Its not drying on the skin either, so it could even be perfect for those people with dry skin.
The thing I love most about it is that it does not transfer!!!! It means I can wear high collars and white shirts without it going everywhere.
The coverage is definitely build able and adjustable. If you apply one layer, you will get a good medium coverage and then another layer will take you to full, with nothing to be seen.
It is a pricey foundation, for sure, but I think if you want a new foundation that actually lives up to its claims, then you definitely should try this.
A quick mention to the All Hours primer too, I bought it as it was on offer with the foundation in Selfridges. I love the primer, it really does give the skin a smooth finish but I hate pairing it with the foundation. I don't know what is it, but the combination of the All Hours primer and foundation together just results in a hot mess -whereas the primer with other foundations works really well! Not my favourite primer as it doesn't help with oils but it does give a smooth base.
I've taken the above photo in natural light, without any editing or filters on top as usual and you can see just how well it photographs!
Have you tried this foundation? Or do you have a current favourite? I'm always on the hunt!
