Currently Loving #10

January has been a month of online teaching, lots of uncertainties and of course lots of food. With things in the world how they are, this blog still remains my little escape and I love coming back every weekend and catching up on blogs, reading comments and writing blog posts. Bringing back something that I haven't done in over a year - monthly favourites! I've got to make more of an effort to do these because there are so many things that I fall in love with as the month goes on.

#1 Rituals Tinted Lip Balm*

I've been loving this lip balm recently, not only does it give a little bit of colour to the lips but with all the mask wearing but its giving my lips some well needed nourishment. They've been so cracked and dry recently that I've had to apply lip balm constantly.

#2 NARS Soft Matte Concealer

My heart has always loved liquid concealer but my heart has been taken over my the NARS pot concealer. This little pot is magical and well worth the investment. I love using it under my foundation to spot concealer and on top to cover any marks or spots that appear on the surface. A tiny bit on a brush covers everything and its easy to blend and the shade GINGER is spot on for me.

#3 CT Cream Eyeshadow in Rose Gold

Another little pot of wonder! This creamy, smooth, irresistibly gorgeous eyeshadow has been my go to product this past month. I love apply this everyday and making me eyes look all shimmery and gorgeous. When I say you need the tiniest little bit of this, you really do. It goes a long way, spreads all over the eye lid and does not budge.

#4 Marc Jacobs Perfume

I've always had issues with perfumes lasting on me. No matter what I have tried or tested, they just don't last. I get so jealous of people who I can smell from a mile away! This perfume doesn't last on me but boy does it smell wonderful and I happily apply it several times a day just to smell it. I love how fresh it smells and its the perfect transitional scent before we go into Spring.

#5 Carfume Love Hearts*

I love getting little gadgets for the car, when you're in one every morning and evening during the week - small things really make a huge difference. I've even ordered one of those dip holders that you can attach to the air vent! The little diamond and wood accessory has made my car smell insane recently. This scent is a limited edition Love Hearts one and makes the whole car journey even more fun. These last much longer than regular car fresheners and are available in a variety of scents.

#6 Watch

There have been so many shows I have watched recently, its my favourite thing to do in the evening to switch off.
WandaVision - took me a while to get into it but I am loving it.
Virgin River - such a heart warming programme thats full of everything that a small town has.
Night Shift - a slept on medical show! If you love Grey's you'll LOVE this.

Instant Family - not a show but a movie and its lovely. I cried so much at the end, completely not what you expect but its amazing.

What have you loved in January?

21 Questions: Makeup Edition

When I first started blogging, TAG blog posts were the in thing. Everyone used to do them, they used to be all over YouTube as well. I watch the very beautiful Allie Glines and am obsessed with her channel. She posts a really good mix of 'drugstore and high end' as well as other videos such as 'full face of nothing new' and recently the Vogue style 21 questions but a makeup edition. It seemed like fun so I thought I would have a go too!

New Year, New Home

A new year means new goals. This year I have not only set myself some personal goals for the year but as a family we some goals that we are looking to achieve around the house. I think everyone is spending more time indoors at the moment and have been for the past year, so its only right that we try and make the space we are living and working in -enjoyable, homely and relaxing.

Charlotte Tilbury Haul

At the start of the year, I said to myself that each month I would aim to try a new brand. A brand that I have always wanted a particular product from, a whole range, just something new and different to me. My first one was going to be the luxury brand 'Charlotte Tilbury'. My lovely friend Aimee, very kindly bought me some things for Christmas and I have been in love ever since.

Let's Talk Skin

My skin is something I have always spoken about on here, the highs and low but I don't think I've actually ever shared my face. Why? Probably because I'm ashamed and embarrassed. Until recently, I never felt confident without makeup on, hated anyone coming round the house if I didn't have some concealer or, never went out for five minutes without covering my face. Such little things but things that have a massive impact on your mental health. Then in October, I decided to change things. I started to become more confident in my own skin and let me tell you, there is no better feeling. I still have awful days, spotty skin days, hormones playing up - but I'm smiling and surely thats the main thing?

Deviant Skincare Gentle Resurfacing Liquid Review

Deviant Skincare is a brand I am constantly seeing pop up on instagram. After the queen that is -Caroline Hirons, mentioned them once on her socials and included them in her kits - they became ever so popular and very hard to get hold of their products. Luckily, during their promotion with CH, I managed to bag a very good discount and purchased the liquid and oil. Today's post is all about the Gentle Resurfacing Liquid aka GRL.

What is Gentle Resurfacing Liquid? A liquid exfoliant/acid toner. What does it do exactly? Exfoliate the skin using AHAs, BHAs and PHAs. What on earth does that mean? It helps with teh reduction in blemishes and the appearance of pores, lines & wrinkles plus gives the skin a much smoother and more even complexion and skin tone.

Described as an exfoliating formula combining a unique cocktail of AHA’s (Mandelic, Lactic, Glycolic, Malic and Citric), BHA (Salicylic Acid) and PHA (Gluconolactone) to gently dissolve the bonds binding dull, dead cells to skin’s surface.

The ingredients are incredible and if you were to spend time researching each one, you would learn that they are all key to getting the best out of your skin. I've been using this about 3 times a week since the back end of October and my oily, spot prone skin bloody loves it.

Using acids in my skincare routine is a big step for me, just buying one this expensive (£35) made me die a little inside. However, to help with my scaring, uneven skin tone and texture I knew it was something I needed to start adding into my routine. What is so unique about the GRL is that the unique blend of the different ingredients makes it very mild for the skin. I use it 3 times a week (as suggested by the brand) and  think this is more than enough. Anymore than this for me, or anyone with normal skin would probably be too much and not give the result of that glowy, smooth skin. With consistent use of this, I've noticed a significant difference to my overall skin. Its looking a lot more even, smooth and most of all its helping with my stubborn scars. I can't fault it all. The tingle you get when applying at first, goes away and doesn't burn or irritate the skin. I haven't fallen out of love with it once and can't praise the product enough.

As a newbie to the world of AHA's, BHA's ect, this has been a great addition to my routine and I can't wait to see what the long term effects will be. Its actually encouraged me to use more acid based products like serums and cleansers (reviews coming soon) because I'm in awe at the difference it makes to my skin.

If you are interested in this or any of the other Deviant Skincare line, then please do check them out. As of this week, the GRL is still out of stock, but is due back this month as well as some other amazing products.
