Lisa Eldridge Velvet Myth Lipstick

I’m a huge fan of the queen that is Lisa Eldridge. She is someone on YouTube who teaches you things, as opposed to just doing things for the sake of it. She is very experienced in the makeup field, loves to experiment with colour and a pleasure to watch. When I heard that she was releasing new lipsticks back a few months ago, I had to get my hands on one. Her summer range was gorgeous but I own so many pinks and nudes, I resisted and waited for something darker - and I am so glad I did!

I love how her lipsticks have been created around a theme, with a little of Lisa's vintage love thrown in there as well. Everything is done to a high quality and you wouldn't expect anything less from her. All her lipsticks have a magnetic closure, with a very satisfying snap when you attach them together. The gold bullet casing has a L etched on and a lipstick mark to seal the deal. The main thing that makes these lipsticks special and different to any other one, is the actual texture of the. It looks like actual velvet fabric! When you go up close, its matte and soft - almost a bit furry but nothing off putting. Almost too pretty to touch.

'Velvet Myth'
A wildly vivid mulberry shade inspired by a vintage kimono Lisa bought on her first trip to Japan. This shade has notes of red and blue and is particularly good for brightening the face and whitening the teeth

Velvet Myth, along with the other lipsticks retail at £26 and are only available to buy via Lisa's website. This time round, there was a pre-order stage, which helped to control traffic issues and stock problems. I had no issues with buying, shipping or the product arriving.
This lipstick is of very high quality, the pigmentation is incredible; opaque with just one swipe. I like to either give it one swipe or use a brush and apply it more evenly and build up the colour to make it more intense.

The lipstick glides over the lips like butter, and its not drying like some matte lipsticks are. My lips never feel restricted or irritated, they feel like they have nothing on them.  On me, this lasts a good 5 hours before it needs to be reapplied and touched up. I find that wearing a lip liner underneath helps keep it on longer but its not necessary to wear one. I love how my lipstick doesn't transfer or leave a mark on anything I touch and doesn't leave that horrible lipstick outline after eating or drinking.

I am so impressed with everything about this lipstick and have to control my usage, because I know that I WILL end up finishing it very soon!

Most shades are now sold out, but you can see the full collection here.
