Summer Staples: Beauty

Today I am bringing you my second instalment of this mini summer series..and its all about beauty. These are some of the products that I have fallen in love with recently and that are ideal for the summer time. Some are items that I need to keep me looking alive and others are items that compliment the summer. Its a mix of makeup and skincare, with everything in between!

A very odd thing to mention in this post but I just had to talk about these incredible brushes. I bought this set from Amazon for just £5.99 and it has changed my life and my makeup. The eye brushes were needed as mine were getting old and tatty. Then the face brushes have changed my makeup routine drastically. In the summer, I like wearing lighter makeup and using a brush instead of a sponge, as it makes foundation look more natural and seamless on the skin. These two brushes (stippling and buffing) do exactly that. With the stippling, I mix either two foundations or foundation and moisturiser together. Then, with the buffing I mix it and blend it all in. The finish is gorgeous and natural and these brushes are amazing quality for the price.

The sunshine means spending a lot more time outdoors, I have a post coming about my favourite SPF but my skincare has also been slightly updated to fit in with my lifestyle. This extremely light serum/oil offers the skin protection from the horrible stuff that's in the air. The air stresses the skin out and can affect the tone, ageing sins and the way it functions. I have been loving this in the AM and PM. It has a mix of marshmallow, liquorice and grape to replenish and repair the skin, giving it a barrier from the pollution in the world. I love how it feels on my skin and love the brightening effects it seems to be giving me.

I am never one to fall for the hyper early on, it takes me months to buy something that people rave about. However, when it came to this primer it didn't take me very long at all. Everyone that I was coming across on YouTube, loved this stuff and said that it made the biggest difference to the longevity of their makeup and so I just had to get it. At the time, Cult Beauty had 20% off Milk Makeup - it was a sign. I have fallen in love. This primer is great if you have oily/combination skin - in fact any skin type. It is thin, sinks into the skin and the tacky feeling that it leaves soon goes and makeup applies on top so well. My foundation blends like a dream, pores are gone and makeup lasts through the heat. LOVE.

Ted Baker Lilac Polish
This polish was part of the TB set that was an exclusive to Boots at Christmas, this shade has been calling me for the longest time. As soon as the improved, this went straight on my toes. It is the perfect toe colour, easy to wear, apply and surprisingly long lasting. I love that lilac looks toned down and muted on the skin but still looks pretty and girly.

Lip colours are a hard thing to find in the summer, I always want something long lasting, lightweight but still look natural. This shade from L'Oreal is stunning, almost a my lips but better shade. Its easy to apply, thanks to its pointed applicator and the formula is so lightweight, you can't feel it on the lips.

What are you summer beauty staples?
