Lazy Girl's Guide to Fitness

I find that all people talk about at this time of year is getting fit, the holiday countdown is on and wedding season is just around the corner. Now more than ever, people are wanting to tone up, eat better and get fit - of course I am one of those people. Even though I despise too much exercise, finding ways of making it fun and enjoyable gets me through it. Here are some simple ways to add some fitness into your life without even thinking about it...this is for you lazy girl's out there like me!
Workout Makeup

1. Look The Part

The biggest reason why we lazy girls find it hard to get motivated to work out is because we aren't mentally prepared, always having negative thoughts. The saying 'look the part, feel the part' plays its part in this, it all starts with you. I'm one of these that wears a light layer of makeup when I go to the gym or a class, if I am at home then bare faced. Nothing too heavy and caked on, a primer to keep my skin hydrated such as the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot, this is amazing at keeping your makeup on through anything. Then for a light base, the Kiko Universal Fit Foundation is perfect, one layer gives you enough coverage to look more alive and it stays in put. As everything I usually do fitness wise is either early morning or late in the evening, mascara is an essential. It makes me look just that little bit more awake and alert. Of course lipstick is an essential for me, whether it be a tinted lip balm or nude lipstick, a light layer of something is needed.

2. Feel The Part

As well as looking the part you have to feel it and this for me is about being comfortable, no point in doing something and not feeling like you can enjoy it. Get in the mindset of 'this is going to be so much fun' and wear something fun too. Forget monochrome for when you work out, go all out and dress the part. If you are wearing something bright and colourful, you will feel so much better as it will reflect in your mood. My go to outfit is this matching set from Reebok*. The capri pants (£18) are so comfortable, its essentially like wearing leggings but better and the print is so funky! Then the co-ordinating purple top (£17.99)  is super soft and helps to control your body temperature, so you aren't sweating excessively. There are so many cute outfits on the market these days, splash out and look nice, because why not!

3. Get It Out Of The Way

Even though you probably don't want to have to wake up earlier than the alarm, working out in the morning means that you have got it out of the way and there's no excuses after work. My favourite thing to do is either go for a quick walk (not much of a runner) or do some yoga. Youtube is a great place to find quick workouts that you can do in the comfort of your own home, the getting up bit is hard but afterwards you feel so refreshed and ready to take on the day.

4. Get A Partner In Crime

Doing something like a class or at home workout is no fun on your own, rope someone else in to do with you. If you both set a goal and motivate one another to do some form of fitness everyday then you'll keep at it - the whole not wanting to let the other one down. This gives you a chance to catch up with someone and get fit whilst you are at it. Then there is no excuse for not doing it!

5. Multitask

This is my favourite way to incorporate exercise into my everyday routine without it feeling like I am doing something. When catching up on a tv show, the breaks in between are a great way to do some quick cardio. A few crunches, lunges or even a couch workout (pinterest has a variety) to do whilst watching a show/movie will do just the trick.

Fitness doesn't have to be a chore if you make it more fun and suited to you, we lazy girl's can do this!
