Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

contouring under £5

Contouring and Bronzing are two words that don't mix with me very well. There are people out their who are amazing at them both and can make it look easier and effortless when it really isn't in real life let's be honest. As the weather has been getting a little bit better I haven't been opting for blush and instead for bronzer and recently Makeup Revolution are my go to brand for it and the other day I realised that I have 4 different products from them that work amazingly well and are just about for under £5...

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

First up is the most natural bronzer/contour of the lot, this huge bronzer is completely matte making it perfect to use on your cheekbones. It is also very sheer which gives you chance to build it up to a high intensity and it is also great to take with you for touch ups due to being light weight but I would love it even more if it had a mirror. The one thing that annoys me is that the bronzer is very very fine and when you put your brush in it, it goes everywhere - is that normal? Maybe, but I have never experienced something like it.

Protection Palette £6.00 and Contour Kit £4.00
Next up is the contour kit from MR a dupe for the much raved about one from Sleek, I don't actually own the contour kit which comes under £5 but the bronzer, blush and highlighter comes as part of the protection palette that also includes concealer and a powder. This whole palette is the perfect thing to keep in your handbag and carry around with you because you have everything in it to look a little bit normal again. The shades range from light to dark and in each one the trio to contour matches your skin tone. This is well worth the investment!

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

The cheapest one out of this entire lot and probably something that I would have never even thought of, a eye-shadow that you can use for contour and let me tell you it works amazingly well. It looks like a brown shadow but it is very grey toned and that actually makes it perfect to use, especially if you are like me and have darker skin then finding a contour product can be really hard but this is amazing and I can't even explain it!! If you want to see it in action then see the picture below and you will see the difference it makes, might I also add that this is the easiest way to contour that I have found.

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

This out of all of them is the more daring product and to tell you the truth I get really scared every time I use it because of it being so dark as yo can see in the swatch below. But then when it is on your skin and you really blend it out (clean brush works best) it doesn't look half bad. I have the normal version but there is also a matte version on the market and I may just by that next time around because it won't leave a sheen on my cheeks once it sets. I highly recommend this stick to get that Kim K look but you might need some bronzer to tone it down.

In the above picture I have a blend of the contour stick that I applied with a fluffy eye-shadow brush and really blended it in, then to define it a little bit more I applied the mocha love eye-shadow with the same brush and then to get a nice bronze glow I used the chocolate bronzer. I found that using these three together worked amazingly well and lasted all day as well, this isn't something that I would do every day more on a night out or day away. For every day the bronzers in both the protection palette and the chocolate one is amazing and not too much that you look full of makeup.

Overall all these products from MR have really changed my makeup routine, I can't imagine life now without them and they are much easier to use than they look - I guess you just have to be daring.

Empties #3

Empties

I am the worst at finishing up products, hence why there aren't many empties post on here. I can never seem to stick to one item of makeup or skincare or body and then only use that continuously, until i run out. I like to switch things up and make it a bit more exciting, which then leaves me baffled when youtubers upload empties videos like every month?? How do you use things up so quickly?? It's  beyond me! Anywho.. let's see what I've got through!

Garnier Ultra Dry Deodorant // This is my handbag hero, I love keeping this my bag to use when I am on the go. It isn't scented and doesn't leave any white marks so I love using it!

Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser // This is a product that I do use up quickly due to it being something that I use every single day! I love the way this helps with oil control, breakouts and minimises the appearance of blackheads. It also isn't very thick, so doesn't take forever to sink into my skin on a morning or night and then I can get on with the rest of my face application.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Wash // Ahhhh, just thinking about this is making me imagine the smell that this soap has when I use it. It is super citrus and strong but even though it sounds very heavy, it smells heavenly and is so luxurious to say you don't pay very much. I was scared of using this at first because of my skin being super sensitive and this been filled with citrus, but my skin doesn't react with it at all!

VO5 Smoothly Does It // I am always changing and switching up the shampoo I use because I find that my hair gets too used to a product and then doesn't do the job it is meant to be doing. This one however, is one that I can use all the time and my hair loves! It helps with frizz reduction and makes it easier to keep my hair straighter for much longer. I recently however picked up another one from VO5, so looking forward to trying that out!

Quinoderm 10 Spot Treatment // Where do I even start with this? This product is that long term spot treatment that you need in your life. If you are a spot sufferer like me and get them regularly, then buying this will make your life a lot easier, the smallest amount will go such a long way. I apply it at night and get the slightest little bit of a burning sensation when I first put it on, and then it dies down and settles.

NYC Foundation // I loved this in the summer on those lazy days because of the formula being super light, but wouldn't use it again because the packaging it annoying. You can't get all the bits of the foundation out through the pump, it just stops? So, now I am left with a big section of product and no way of using it.

L'Oreal True Match // When I ran out of this, I actually shed a tear. An actual tear. Water and everything. This is something that I cannot now live without, the formula, texture, lasting power - just everything it claims to do - it does. Love, love, love and more love.

Collection Cosmetics Concealer // Haha, if this isn't in an empties then we can't call it an empties post! Will always swear by this concealer and won't use anything else because of the amazing job that it does!

The Incredible Face Mask

MayBeauty is a brand I know of and love a great deal, their eyelash serum works wonders, today I am talking to you all about their face mask called 'The Incredible Face Mask' the name makes it sound like the best thing in the world, and I think that it might just be!
The Incredible Face Mask

The Incredible Face Mask

The mask claims to do the following things 'Remove Blackheads, Acne, Dead skin and help with Oil on your face' a lot of claims for a mask that is the size of your hand. Many of the face masks that I have tried before have all been wash off masks but this on the other hand is a peel off one, my first experience with it and it is definitely odd.
You pop this mask on your face, leave it for 30 minutes or what I found is when it peels and doesn't hurt!

The Incredible Face Mask

The texture and formula of this mask is a weird one, it is a peel off one but the consistency of it is more like a wash off. It is also very very black, so I would highly recommend doing this when you are having some you time - as it can look pretty scary. I used a brush to apply this as it was a lot easy due to the formula of it being thick but gloopy at the same time. All you need it one even layer and it covers your entire face, I focused more on my forehead and nose where most of my blackheads lie.

The Incredible Face Mask

After 30 minutes of waiting very patiently and making funny faces, it was time to peel off. Instantly I saw a difference and this is no lie, my mum even noticed it. My skin had brightened up and instead of looking dark and dull because of all the spots/scars it was the colour of my neck - one colour all over. The next day I had seen a reduction in the spots on my face and no more blackheads on my nose which is where they tend to gather.

I am in love with this mask, it does everything that it says and more! I will now be doing them every week for as long as I possibly can to help my skin and remove all the bad stuff.
