Glitter Chat #1 ♥

I love love love blogging, but sometimes I just I don't want to post something that is beauty/fashion related and post about normal things - LIFE! It just gives me a chance to use this blog as diary, I have tried in the past to post things like this and then deleted the posts as I didn't like it! But I have now come to the conclusion that every so often I will just take a breather and write this like my journal. Not only does this give me and this blog something different; but you guys get to know me a little bit more.

This instalment on my blog will be called 'Glitter Chat' to coincide with the name of my blog and because I am chatting with you! It may be a regular thing, or just once in a while - nevertheless I hope you all enjoy and leave me some comments as I love talking to all of you sat reading this. I even created a little logo/picture to match the idea!

So, What's been going on in Parie's world then I hear you ask? Well, I have just started sixth form at a brand new school and I am really really enjoying it. The work load is totally different to what I am used to, but I guess I can manage as long as I keep my self organised and prepared all the time - that is the key. Apart from that; nothing really big and exciting has been happening!

Currently, I am reading and blogging (multi-tasking I know!) the new Company magazine with Lauren the current Britain and Ireland Next Top Model Winner. I am so glad she won, not only was the final a tough one but the top three were all amazing girls; they all deserve success in life and I hope to see them all in my magazines one day! I love Company in general however only usually buy it when there is someone I really want to read about featured in the magazine. There are some amazing pieces in this months issue, so if you want a good read I suggest buying! Also posted this on instagram which is something I will always love!

Also burning my recently purchased yankee candle tart in 'salted caramel' which just smells divine. I can't even describe to you just how perfect this smells, I start off with tarts then if I like the smell work my way up to a jar! It smells like sweet burnt sugar and salt mixed with caramel - I also smell a tiny bit of vanilla. The scent will linger too, you can smell it around the house!! After posting this, I will be painting my nails with that beautiful, bright pink colour; bright and beautiful!

Autumn Ready Skin ♥

We are in AUTUMN! I love this month, there are so many things about it that I just want to marry the season. As this season begins and we draw closer into the colder, winter months your skin really needs looking after! This is really a Teen Talk Tuesday..however my Tuesday posts for now are TheSoProject, so I thought that this can have it's own post!

Autumn Ready Skin
Source

Even though I adore the summer months, the warm weather, holidays and frequent dips in the sea..it can play serious havoc with your skin even if you have been looking after it. This is why autumn is a great time to scrub away all the damage that the summer has done to your skin and properly prep it for the colder months.! So let's begin to scrub away summer! First of all run a nice warm bath and scrub away all fake tan and dead skin that tends to pile up during the summer months. Think of yourself as getting rid of the old and getting ready for the new!

The weather in the winter months can make your skin go one of two ways: either you will have a beautiful inner glow complete with rosy cheeks and lips, or you will look grey, washed out and in need of a skincare overhaul. This is why it is so important that you switch your skincare products to those that will protect your skin against the colder elements and leave your skin looking and feeling radiant!

In the summer months make-up should look as natural as possible, however when it comes to autumn and winter it’s time to vamp things up. Think about the colours you usually associate with falling leaves during autumn and try and co-ordinate your make-up accordingly. Red, gold and brown are all great colours to experiment with, however just make sure that you pick the right shades for your skin tone otherwise you could end up looking washed out.

Starting Off; Foundation ♥

Today we will be chatting about foundation. The do's the don't and my personal favourites, thesoproject is about helping you and the basics always come from the teachings and the help guides. No clue what I am on about then check out this post here to find out more.
---
Picking a foundation can be so confusing what Colour? what formula? Now if you know your skin type that's a start! If you need to know what tone your skin is then check out my previous post here. No matter your age or even experience foundation is the hardest make up step of its all. (please note that these are my views, I am no way a professional and my best advice would also to go see a professional.

Coverage - If you know your skin type then the next step is the type of foundation coverage you want and would prefer.

Sheer Coverage- a little bit of coverage almost transparent, you will be enhancing your skin with this formula of foundation and even out your skin.

Medium Coverage- this foundation will cover most of your minor imperfections on its own, this is the most common for everyday wear.

Medium to Full Coverage- Build able coverage which means that you can apply your foundation in a medium coverage and go back and cover problem areas again making it full coverage in those areas, natural yet covered.

Full or Opaque Coverage- this is going to completely cover your skin it is the most pigmented foundation, these foundations cover heavy scarring, discolourations, are used in dramatic make up, or just the Appearance of Flawless Skin!

Finish - This is to describe how your foundation will look when it is set and applied.

Satin- Doesn't shine yet has a slight shimmer to it.

Matte- Makes your skin feel like it has powder on.

Luminous- Gives you a shiny glow.

Natural- Your skin basically appears how it is without foundation, but with it on.

Types - There a so many types of foundations that are available for you these days, it is always best to test them all before picking one you prefer.

Liquid Foundation- The most common one that people use because , it blends easily, and comes in a variety of coverages.

Powder Foundation- This gives you more coverage when you build the amount up.

Creamy Foundation- Comes in different ranges of coverage and is blend-able on all skin types.

Starting Off; Foundation

I also have three favourites, all of different coverages and types.

- Natural Collection Foundation - This is my everyday favourite  it gives me a medium amount of coverage that isn't too heavy for the day. It covers what it needs to as well as evening out my skin tone at the same time. It is also very affordable and great for sensitive skin like mine.

Starting Off; Foundation

- The Body Shop Oil Control Foundation - Do not be scared by the name, I have dry skin and this foundation works on me as well. This is more of a high coverage foundation and is perfect for an evening out or when you need that little bit more of your face covered and it hides all imperfections.
Starting Off; Foundation

- Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse - A mousse foundation is great for light coverage and high because the amount you use can be adjusted to what look you are trying to achieve. A lot like powder you are able to build and blend as you go along to great a flawless finish to your face and make it look dewy.
Starting Off; Foundation

The way you apply foundation has to be down to your preference, there are so many ways these days as to what you can use, but the finish I find is always the same.

- Sponges/ Beauty Blender - Make up sponges are the cheapest tool you can buy to blend in your foundation this and a beauty blender takes time, but you can defiantly get your foundation to be blended in nicely.

- Brushes - Whether it be foundation brushes, stippling brushes or even an expert face brush these are the most common tool to use because it speeds up time and really helps to blend in all that product to even everything out.

-Hands - Yes, this might sound disgusting but trust me if you are ever in a hurry and need to quickly apply foundation then this is your best bet. Not only is this easy and free, you will be able to make sure that the look of your face is what it is meant to look like.

If you want to see my favourite tools then you will have to check back soon!

a girl can never have too many bags ♥

We all need a bag in out possession that can be used for everything! It can be very difficult sometimes to choose the right, bag or even clutch that matches that very pretty outfit, here are a few of my favourite designer splurges that you should treat yourself to - as you all know we are so worth it!  These are a few of my favourites but you can shop more here or instore!
a girl can never have too many bags

#1 - You can't ever go wrong with a simple black clutch! This one from Vivienne  Westwood is simple, elegant and chic at the same time. No matter what you are wearing, black goes with basically everything! The added gold chain is also a bonus as you can then carry it on your shoulder as well as in the day as it doesn't look too over the top and dressy!
#2 - I believe that you should always have a printed bag hidden away in your collection, I only say this because it always comes in handy. If you are wearing the simplest outfit ever, then pairing it with a patterned clutch like this cheetah print one can really bring your style to light and show everyone how fashionable you are. Cheetah print also looks amazing with a LBD and red shoes.
#3 My must have staple item for all year round, a nude/beige coloured bag will be your best friend in the summer and winter months. You can use it to dress up and down your outfit as the colour just blends well and matches your style perfectly whether you know it or not. If you can get your hands on a big, loose bag like this one then you will not regret it! Everything can fit into this bag and the colour will compliment everything you wear and choose.
#4 Again, with the black. I can't get over the fact that black is such a simple and boring colour however looks amazing with anything. This Marc Jacbos tote bag is amazing for work, school and a trip out somewhere. It will make you look sophisticated and looks like you know what you are doing. There is so much room in these bags that you will be amazed at how much you can get in! The shape and style may take some getting used to, however it is all worth it in the end.

*In association with Harvey Nichols All opinions and choices of bags are my own.
