2018 Beauty Standouts

Woah, where did 2018 go? As cliche as it sounds, I honestly can't believe it - it was a year full of ups and downs but the best year I have ever had for sure. When it comes to 2019, I haven't really got many goals, just to be happy and healthy. In terms of beauty, my goal is to really shop my stash. I want to get through as many products makeup and skincare wise as I can. Over on my instagram stories, I am going to be using 1 different lip product a day for the month of January to get through the heavy load of them that I have. Then a new challenge every month to help me get rid. This will be be the year I use up more before buying more!
As far as 2018 goes, there hasn't been many product that wowed me so I couldn't really categorise them into sections. However, these are the products that really caught my eye or that I repurchased over the year.
2018 beauty favourites

L'Oreal Infaliible Pro-Matte Foundation// After rediscovering this earlier on in the year, it was once again love at first sight. This is my daily go to foundation, for when I want a flawless, full coverage look but don't want makeup to feel heavy on my face. For a drugstore foundation is incredible, it doesn't make my skin oily at all, look cakey or even feel tacky. I just love how it looks and feels. Ive been through 2 tubes this year and expect more as this year goes on.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Matte (£30)// I got so excited when I spotted this in Hawaii because it hadn't yet launched over here, but after a quick Google - I realised it is now on the Boots site! If you have oily skin, or even combination and want a light feeling but good coverage cc cream then this is the product for you. Its an oil-free version of their very popular CC Cream, that just makes the skin look flawless. This is great at the weekends to slap on and go - in the summer I think this will be a godsend.

MUA Foundation Mixer (£2) // After coming back from holiday, my face was a light shade of brown compared to the rest of me which was way darker. It proved very problematic! I picked up this mixer from Superdrug on a whim but its worked wonders for me. I add a little bit into almost every foundation to darken the colour or even if the foundation is too yellow, This little gem helps the shade match closer to my skin tone.

Maybelline Fit Me Loose// I am praying that this launches in the UK this year because this powder is OUTSTANDING. I don't usually stray away from my beloved Rimmel Stay Matte but this is even better. Its sets my makeup, keeps in in place and yet feels so lightweight on top of any foundation. Its a very finely milled powder that looks flawless on the skin. I have recently just bought the pressed version to see how it compares, but its just not the same :( I hope I can find an alternative soon!

Fenty Killawatt Highlighter// Fenty Beauty has a real moment this year and I am here for it. The buzz is that there are powders coming this year and I can't wait! This duo is very well loved. On their own, each shade is stunning and gives the skin such a glow. Together, this duo is illuminating. Whether you have fair skin or dark skin, the Fenty highlighters are for everyone.

Stila Magnificent Metals// I only have a mini set of these and they're nearly all gone!! It might be time to purchase a large of the copper and gold ones because they are beautiful. I swipe these all over the lid, if I'm wanting a quick eyeshadow look but have no time. Or if I can be bothered then these make a great cut crease glitter, inner corner shadow and so much more. If you're yet to discover these, then make the time now!

NYX Lip Liners// NYX is a brand that I can't really fault. Every product I have tried from them is amazing and blows me away. Their lip liners are very comparable to MAC ones, easy to apply, long lasting and come in a variety of shades.  I love the 'Mauve' one as it can be paired with every single nude that I own and it particularly goes well with the lipstick I am about to mention.

MAC Velvet Teddy// Hands down my favourite lipstick of the year, I wore it non-stop at the start of 2018 during placement and it finished. Forgot about it, repurchased and fell back in love, to the point where I need another one! This shade is a very universal nude, you know that Kylie Jenner nude? That shade, it looks gorgeous and when applied on top of this NYX liner and then topped with a gloss- it calls for a lip party!

A very small but cute mix of products from 2018, what have you loved last year the most?
