2021 Skincare, Makeup and Lifestyle Favourites

Happy New Year! Goodbye 2021 and hello 2022. It sounds crazy writing that, yet along saying it. I was back at work yesterday and had to remember to write the correct date on the board. Here is a short run down of a few bits and pieces that I loved last year.

Skincare

Dermalogica Melting Moisture Masque // I love using this when my skin needs some TLC and in the winter its been a life saver. I aim to use it two times a week to really give my skin some serious deep hydration and this does it perfectly.

Cosrx Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence // A product that I didn't think I'd fall in love with but here we are, half way through the bottle and could cry that it will run out soon. I use this every morning and evening to give my skin some hydration, suppleness and healthy glow. Its brilliant.

There are so many products I have discovered this year in the skincare game, ones that have changed my life and ones that have ruined my life. I am still battling with breakouts, texture, hyper pigmentation and so much more - its a constant battle. Let's hope 2022 becomes the year of a consistent routine.

Makeup

Live Tinted Hue Stick // Colour correcting is game changing. I love using the hue stick on redness, darkness and uneven skin tone. This one pencil style corrector has lasted me nearly all year and is still going, I am looking forward to trying more from Live Tinted this year and the different shades on offer.

Urban Decay All Night Primer // If you've been around a long time, you'll know that the setting spray is my holy grail. I can't go anywhere without it. The primer is even better and makes the perfect base for my textured, oily skin. I can't seem to find it much online recently, I really hope they aren't getting rid of it.

Too Faced Born this Way Foundation // This foundation is what I've been using as a 'mixing foundation'. Since going away in October and getting a very strong tan, my colour matching has been all over. This foundation from Too Faced has been in my collection for a while but was never used until then. Its been perfect to mix with any other foundation I have in my collection and its beautiful.

Nikkia Joy Loose Powder // I have watched Nikkia Joy on YouTube for years. She has oily skin just like me and her foundation reviews are my favourite as our skin type is the same. She launched her own powder a while back and I took the plunge and ordered one back in March - it came all the way from Australia! Its the best loose powder I have ever tried. I'm on my second pot and have recently got her pressed powder to keep in my bag. It smooths and blurs my pores, keeps my makeup in place all day and doesn't look cakey - literally perfect.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Intense // Who knew that this bronzer obsessed girl would have ditched the bronzer for blush! I am obsessed. Like I can't stop using them and buying them.  This one from CT is the perfect dusty pink for medium to dark skin tones, the intense version is much bolder than the normal. I love the pink flush that it gives my cheeks and you only need a small amount for it to look perfect.

Charlotte Tilbury Cream Shadows // These have been mentioned a few times on the blog and instagram but they are incredible. Worth every penny. I adore the ones I have, but Rose Gold is my ride or die. They are easy to apply, last well on my oily eye lids and give the most beautiful colour pay off.

I am sure there are other products that I've loved but completely forgot to mention.

Lifestyle

I have been very lucky this year to go and experience things that I haven't been able to in the past two years. I have seen many theatre shows - Hairspray, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Cinderella and Mamma Mia - I've been loving going to the theatre, its just so magical and amazing.
I've also managed to travel to Croatia back in October with my friend Aimee and Italy with my family during Christmas. It has been amazing and giving me the travel bug to continue (hopefully) visiting more places this year.

* James Bond and Spiderman were my movie highlights of the year.
*Selling Sunset is something I discovered last year and its just so good
*Sweet Magnolias, Chesapeake Shores and Virgin River are just a few that I have binged.

2021 was a year to remember for sure, lots of change and different things happening. Let's see what 2022 has instore!
