Maybelline Sky High Mascara Review

I wouldn't say that I am a mascara expert - but I do love trying different ones. In my lifetime, I've mainly stuck to Maybelline mascaras (remember great lash?), tried a few Benefit ones, Climax from Nars and a Pixi one in-between all of them. Maybelline is a brand that I will come back to time and time again. Their Lash Sensational was all the rave a few years back and I still love it. Recently I have trying out the Sky High mascara that has blown up on social media..

When I tell you that this has been one of the hardest products to find, I am not joking. Its been sold out in stores and online for weeks. My friend from work and I have been talking about trying it and hoping to find it sooner rather than later. She managed to pick me one up on a recent trip to Superdrug where everything was two for twelve. One for her and one for me. I screamed (quietly) when she gave it to me and since that day, I haven't stopped using it.

Spoiler Alert: This tube of mascara is incredible.

What makes this different to other mascara's?

This mascara has a 'flex tower brush' which means it bends to give volume and length in one. Its formulated with bamboo extract to help the lashes look fuller and longer and it doesn't smudge, budge or irritate the eyes.

My views

Since introducing the NYX1 Lash Serum into my life, mascara has been tricky as I don't want something that makes my lashes so long that they bang against my glasses. I often choose more volumizing mascara's instead of length. Personally, I hate formulas that separate each lash and make them look like spiders legs. However after watching lots of videos of people using this one I was keen to give it a go as everyone's lashes looked fuller and better.

One coat of this didn't excite me that much, but two coats did some magic. Layering mascara isn't always the easiest thing as the lashes can sometimes get clumpy but that doesn't happen with this. This flexible wand coats the lashes from root to tip and makes them longer, fuller and so fluttery.

It doesn't have waterproof claims but I've worn it when it was extremely cold last week and my eyes water - it didn't run. I wore it when having my weekly COVID test, which makes me cry its so uncomfortable and icky - the mascara still was in tact and didn't budge. I have to say, I am super impressed.

If you can get your hands on this very inexpensive but very popular mascara then you really need to! Its fabulous and great at giving your lashes some lift!
