Being Happy

The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters. Audrey Hepburn
20th March sees international happiness day, the day of celebrating and reminding us of the importance of being happy and living in a world that is equal and inclusive. I have some fun actitvies planned with the children on placement to celebrate this special day and I think on the day, now, next month whenever you should just take a moment to refelct on what makes you happy. It could be as small as the bar of chocoalte you are going to have tonight, or your nearest and dearest - whatever makes you smile. To celebrate the occasion, I have this lovely post in collaboration with Hallmark to tell you all about what makes me happy.

international happiness day

I was very kindly treated to some bits to celebrate this day and let me tell you, it made me very happy! Inside a huge box (I was not expecting so much) there was a little bag with the cutest pot of Nutella inside. It is so small and put the biggest smile on my face because I have been craving chocolate spread for weeks now. The cutest little Dorothy from the Itty Bittys range, I have a few of these and they make the best reward in the classroom. Children love having one of these to sit with and I don't mind them either!

There was also a large key which now takes pride on my wall, it is such a sentimental thing to give someone a key isn't it? This has a tag attached saying that love is the key to happiness and it is the nicest thing I have ever been given. I love cute, memorable items like these because they remind you of the good times. I also have a very pink and beautiful happiness planner! I have wanted to have one of these for the longest time and now I have one, so thank you Hallmark. I have been writing in this every night since owning it and let me tell you, it makes the biggest difference to your mental health - I feel so much more at ease and peaceful, writing everything down puts my mind at rest.

happiness planner

I think there are a lot of things that make me but I think there are certain things that just make me even happier...

> I am currently on placement and I cannot begin to tell you how happy it makes me feel. Each day I wake up getting excited to teach, do something different, this placement compared to the others has made me realise just how badly I want to become a qualified teacher. If you're job doesn't make you happy, then what does!

> My friends and family are the key to my happiness for sure. They are the ones that are always there for me when things get tough, celebrate my achievements and never tell me that I can't do something. It is so important to have realtionships in life that are built on trust and honesty, I don't think I would be the person I am today if it wasn't for them.

> A very random one, but food in particular sugary things make me very very happy! I could not be without chocolate, biscuits, hot drinks, sweets - all the crappy food you shouldn't eat but still do. I like having these things as a treat on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis and it makes me feel so good!

hallmark cards

To celebrate this lovely day, Hallmark have an entire range of cards that are perfect to gift anybody who makes you happy. You could even write it anonomsly, which is what I plan to do and leave them somewhere. These cards are perfect for this occasion and any occasion as they are cute, simple and who doesn't love recieveing a nice card? I love keeping mine and lookin back at them in a few years.

What makes you happy?
