The Ultimate Summer Party

This year, I really want to have a garden party! Decorate the back garden all fancy with fairy lights and flowers, a nice array of food, music and of course people. This is of course all in my head because British weather is never something you can guarantee, so I could plan everything and then it would rain on the day and everything would be over. Instead, I've planned everything in my head and on pinterest so that I can be prepared for when I can rely on the weather and throw this summer party - everything from makeup and outfit to decorations and food. You are all, also invited.

MAKEUP

I'd want my makeup to be very light and fresh, similar to do what I have been doing recently. Keeping my makeup simple and fuss free makes such a difference in time and its become my favourite way to do my makeup, forget the full coverage base its all about the barely there look. For base, my go to has been the Kiko Universal Fit (full review here) I've bought this out of hiding as it is perfect for this time of year. Giving medium coverage, with a slight dewiness to it and long lasting results. Pairing this with the Maybelline Eraser Concealer has been such a good idea, this miracle of a product covers any redness that the foundation doesn't and hides the awful dark circles. I've also been loving the Look Good Feel Better Flawless Complexion Sponge*, just like any other beauty sponge this helps to give more of an airbrushed finish as well as help to blend everything out to avoid creasing and patchiness. The shape of the sponge has been designed to help you hold it with ease, the point is great to use around the nose and eyes and overall it works a treat. I have also been loving the Makeup Revolution Ombre Highlighter these past few weeks but using it more as a blush, when a makeup brush is swirled all around the compact it creates this gorgeous peachy pink blush with a shimmer running through that pairs perfectly with this eye look.

I've also rediscovered my love for Makeup Geek Shadows (full review here) these shades in particular (shimma-shimma, frappe, cosmopolitan) are perfect for a quick eye. They work well together to create a shimmery and summery look, using just three shadows create the exact same eye catching look as an entire palette would. MUG shadows are very pigmented, have zero fall out and blend out like a dream. Not very like me but I have been skipping on mascara recently, my eyes are so irritant due to hay fever, there isn't much point applying it. However, applying the Nouveau Lashes Strip Style 2 Lashes* on their own to my lashes is just like applying mascara, they make my lashes look longer in length and thicker in volume. For Christmas, I received the MAC pigments from the nutcracker range, this particular pigment works well with these shadows and is stunning when added directly to the centre of the lid. For brows, I have been loving the NYX brow mascara, it works well to fill sparse gaps in my brows and ties everything together, a strong brow is a game changer. Picking a lip option is always a difficult one for me but the Tarte duo from the maneater collection is perfect for a summer party. A glossy and pinky nude that looks gorgeous and is very hydrating.

FASHION

After the makeup is sorted, we move onto the outfit. If you're hosting, then put your clothes on last to avoid any spillages. Saying that this next part might be a big mistake! One colour that I love to wear at this time of year is white as it just screams summer and stains on a messy day, just have to be extra careful with what ends up near it. I bought this white dress last year for my holiday and am very excited to get it back out again this year. It was only £12 in the Matalan sale and is absolutely gorgeous. It's a linen blend so doesn't make you too hot and flows nicely. With lace detailing all over and a cold shoulder it is perfect to wear for a summer party. There are so many ways you can style this as it is very simple, I've opted for nude flats from Primark and the staple pink suede jacket from Miss Guided. Unfortunately, none of these items are available anymore :( but their are similar items here for the dress , here for the shoes and here for the jacket. An outfit that might look simple but you don't really want to overdress for a summer garden party, its needs to be comfort over style in my opinion.

This is my favourite part of the whole post, in my ideal world, the garden party would be in my back garden so that means planning and decorating. I've put all my ideas in to a pinterest board which you can view over here, its full of food most of which includes cheese because who doesn't love cheese?! It also includes ways to decorate your outdoor place, whether you have a small or large outdoor space their is always room to host people. As humans we learn to fit into every space we get given, but sometimes we need more space and room to have a good time. Now is the perfect time to invest in a summer house or garden room that would keep everyone safe from any unexpected rain, store all the food, drink and be a life long investment - take a look at the range of buildings from Lidget Compton for inspiration!

Phew, that was a very long and jam packed post but it has everything in for the perfect and ideal summer party. Now I just need to win the lottery, gather some friends and pray for sunshine!

What do you think of a summer garden party? Would you like to come to mine?!
