Turning 20

Today, the 13th June, I turn 20! So long teenage years and hello 'adult life'. I'm the last in all of my friends to turn this grand old age, feels like a long time coming. I am actually spending my birthday in school, as I am currently on placement. So teaching, like I will be doing (hopefully) for the rest of my life. I've never had a rest on my birthday, for as long as I can remember, its either been during exam season or I've been working/at school. Its not a bad thing, as I never quite know what to do with myself apart from shop and eat. Sounds ideal!

In celebration of turning 20, here are 20 things you may not know about me/things I have learnt over the years. Claire also tagged me to do the Blue Sky Tag and it has taken me so long to do it, so here are my answers, they are intwetwined within.

1. The most important life lesson that I've learnt thus far in life, is that you can't please everyone. You should never be afraid of yourself and if someone doesn't like that then who cares because at the end of the day you should do things for your sake, no one Else's.

2. My all time favourite movie has to be A Cinderella Story, it gets me every time! When it first came out, I watched it so many times that I knew the lines nearly off by heart, the whole story is just so adorable and restores my faith in finding a Prince Charming.

3. Talking of movie's, I love anything Bollywood. Its the Indian within me and the songs are just fabulous! I couldn't just pick one favourite though, there are so many and any with a dance number in has me.

4.  All woman inspire me, we are such a great species and I love that every single one does something different.

5. I am such an early bird and have spoken about it on here many times, I can wake up at 5 (like I do at the moment) and be full of beans, even though many people do not life.

6. My dream is to get married in Hawaii, there is something about that place that screams love and romance to me. It will probably cost a fortune, but it will be worth it.

7. I live by the quote, you live and you learn. Everything goes wrong somewhere down the line and even though at that moment you hate everything and everyone, when you look back at it - there are some serious lessons to be learnt.

8. I'm one of these girls that just can't hack heels. I love wearing small/midi heels but none of this sky high or platforms business. They hurt and I have really long legs, so sky high shoes make me look even taller and I hate it.

9. I also can't wear eyeliner to save my life, there's a few products that work but I just can't do a straight line and get them looking anywhere near nice. My mum can apply it within a couple of seconds and not even hesitate but me - no chance.

10. Most people my age drink and love a good night out, but I'm not a drinker and love being sober and having a good old night in. Watching TV, snacks in hand and of course pjs is my comfort zone.

11. I am a Little Mix superfan, loved them ever since they appeared on the X-Factor and love everything they do. I am seeing them for like the thousandth time this year and couldn't be more excited.

12. My handbag might seem clean and tidy but inside its a whole other story. There is about a 7 lipsticks, stash full of receipts and wrappers, 4 pens and random bits like cotton buds? I try so hard to keep it organised but no chance.

13. My very first holiday was to Kenya, too many years ago to remember it but I did sit on a tortoise which was pretty cool.

14. I'm a vegetarian, that includes eating no meat, fish and eggs. I eat all other forms of dairy just not eggs. I also do eat other things that just vegetables, as many people think this is all veggie's eat.

15. Something that I find very cool, is that I am fluent in two languages. Gujarati is my mother tongue and then English is my second language.

16. Have a slight problem when it comes to being organised, everything has to written down in a list, otherwise it gets me all confused and muddled up.

17. Cheese is an obsession of mine, all kinds of it from feta to goats cheese. Can't get enough of the stuff and everyone that knows me, knows this.

18. I was born in Peterborough, but we moved to a town just outside of Wakefield (near Leeds) when I was around 2 years old and have lived in the same house since.

19. My current girl crush is Priyanka Chopra. She is killing it, in all shapes and forms from being a star of a US TV Show and in Baywatch to being on magazine covers and being a brand ambassador. She's just a global superstar.

20. I love wearing bright clothing, but most of the time I'm in monochrome because you can't go wrong and it looks effortless.

Turning 20 has its positives and negatives, but I hope to enjoy my 20's to the fullest. This includes travelling, graduating, getting a job and so much more! Photo's by Aamira!
