Last week, my mum and I were very kindly invited along to the Body Shop store in Leeds for their Mother's Day Event. All about celebrating mum's and everything they do for us. We really didn't know what was in store for the night but it turned out to be one fun evening and of course we ended up shopping whilst in the store too!
The Leeds Briggate store is a concept store from the brand and the first of them, it includes a VIP treatment room where you can book and have makeup/skincare consultations. A swanky makeup station, personalised body butter station (how cool!) and so much more. As one of the staff members said its as though lush and The Body Shop had a baby.
When we arrived we were treat to some fizz and canapes, they definetely know how to host! The evening started with being show their new advert mainly for Mother's Day and its so lovely, then we had a talk from Kate - who is a fragrance expert. It was all about learning how and why scents help us recall memories, the importance of finding a signature scent and how the new range of fragrances are tailored to different people. Then it was time to browse, shop and get made up. Whilst browsing the makeup aisle, I spotted a gorgeous liquid lipstick (the two I currently have are nude and love them) in Paris Peony, its a stunning bright pink that is perfect for the summer. The lovely BS lady kindly tried this one on me, layered with a lip liner underneath and then a glossy colour on top from their soon to be released lip palette (sneak peek below!). I then spotted a highlighter swatch on her hand and of course the addict inside of me had to ask - right?! She then applied this in all the right places to make me look like a glowy godess, and did a bit of contouring with their also soon to be released palette and oh my I felt like a princess.
From having my makeup done and browsing around we picked up some bits, an aftershave for both my dad and brother, the new White Musk L'eau for my mum as she needs a new everyday frangrance as well as a fuschia matte pink lipstick! She also got treated to her very own body butter, the new almond milk and honey range is to die for. I then splurged on Paris Peony which I fell in love with, a new Tea Tree Pore Minimser and the Himalyian Face Mask too, to detoxisify and cleanse the skin.
To top the evening off they only went and gave us a goody bag filled with some insane things! One of the things included is the Beauty Selection Box £15, this is part of the Mother's Day range and is the perfect gift for any mum out there. There's a selection of mini's to try before they buy and the fact that it is in a box makes wrapping so much easier. We also got given a handbag sized White Musk L'Eau and the soon to launch Contour and Lip Palettes. I'm going to do a whole review on these very soon because they are just gorgeous!
