The Daring Highlighter

I'm not one for buying and using makeup that is quite 'out there', I tend to stick with what I know works and everything that is nude. However, I do love experimenting from time to time and this summer seems like the perfect time to do just that! On a quick trip to Superdrug the other day to pick up a few essentials, I spotted the Makeup Revolution stand. One of the many brands now under the TAM Beauty umbrella. They release new products almost every week, sometimes I love the look of them and sometimes I skip. In my local store they had just had a delivery of the new products that have been launched this week, ombre highlighters (will appear next week) and this gorgeous highlighter.

Ladies and gents this is the Rainbow Highlighter and isn't it beautiful. I love the highlighters that MUR sell as each one that I have tried has been pigmented and long lasting, so I did not expect anything less from this one. Upon opening it, I was in shock at just how pretty it was - the blend of five different colours is just gorgeous and placed so carefully together to create a rainbow. This isn't your ordinary highlighter by any means, it is very out there and makes a bold statement. Not something to wear to work but more to a festival or on a night out if you want your highlight to pop.

The swatch below is of the highlighter with just one swipe, as you can see it is very pigmented. The colours combine to create this iridescent silver and as my fingers pressed down more on the blue, there is a tint throughout it. MUR advise to either use swirled together like this or as each individual colour. It is shimmery but does not have chunks of glitter in it, making it that little bit easier to wear.

I wore the tiniest little bit of this the other day and it was very obvious that I had highlighter on, it was beaming on my cheeks. It applies like butter to the skin and when it catches in the light, you can really see the different colours coming through. Can't say that I will get much wear out of it at the moment, but I just couldn't resist the prettiness of it!
