Bank Holiday Monday Blues

I don't know about you but all these bank holidays are messing me with my head, and my body clock is all over the place! Today is one of those spontaneous posts, no planning, no thinking it through just me, you and a lot of rambling. I used to do a regular thing on here, Glitter Chats just talking and even though I miss them a lot, they aren't really me - you know pouring my heart out extra. So instead I thought I would just talk a little bit about what's happening in my life and the future...

Firstly, how amazing is this jumper! I got in New Look a while back when they were offering an amazing 20% discount for students, I love jumpers with quotes on and this is officially my Monday Jumper! Even though the weather is nice outside, it is perfect when you want to be all warm and cosy...
Ahh Exams! They are well under way and this bank holiday and the rest of this week is going to be the major revision exams as my main A2 exams commence next week not any resists. From this post onwards everything has been scheduled ready this past weekend, so you aren't left completely silent on the blog front, its weird planning posts because I know what is coming up..odd!
It's also nearly the end of May and then that means June!!! I love next month, one reason being the end of exams and the other it is my 18th Birthday - after months of seeing everyone around me turn 18 it is finally my turn. Nothing planned for the big day as of yet, other than celebrating with my loved ones. The second thing I am very excited about is that exactly a month today I am going on holiday!! One of my very very good friends Aimee and I are off to Germany for just around 2 weeks and I couldn't be more excited. We booked everything back in January and now it is finally time to go away, I still have lots to do and lots of things to buy. Be prepared for a few travel related posts that are planned for whilst I am away..

Hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday and Enjoy the rest of your day!

Guest Post: Spring and Summer Lip Picks

This is the first guest post of many in the next few months, today Sophie Howard of Books and Beauty will be talking all about her spring and summer lip picks!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am definitely an autumn and winter girl; always have been! I prefer the cold to the hot summer months. However, as much as I love the autumn and winter trends, I enjoy nothing more than being able to rock a bright lip when the sun finally decides to come out (I live in Yorkshire so it’s a rarity!)

In this post, I have chosen some of my favourite lip colours to wear in the brighter months. I hope you like them!

Spring and Summer Lip Picks

Coral:

You can’t go wrong with a coral lipstick or lipgloss in spring and summer. It’s the perfect product to brighten your complexion and add some colour to your make up. I tend to wear a smokey eye throughout the year, but on the days where I want more the colour to be focused on my lips, I go for a matte eye and a sunny coral lip. My favourite coral shade is the Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in 020 Papaya
(I got this from TK Maxx and I have an awful feeling it could be discontinued! If you can’t find it, there is an exact colour called Juicy Papaya available in the Revlon Lip Butters)

Pink:

Pink is a great colour to wear all year round. During the colder months I tend to wear a more muted, mid tone pink such as Fanfare by MAC. As soon as the sun starts shining I go all out and wear a bright, blue toned pink to really make my lips pop. This Lip Blush from Jelly Pong Pong is my absolute favourite spring/summer pink.

Red:

I usually save the red lipstick for nights out or in the colder months. However this red (Candy Apple from the Revlon Lip Butter range) is a great colour to wear all year round. It’s not a pillar box red colour, more of a bright, pink toned and looks great in spring and summer.

Nude:

You can’t go wrong with a nude! The one I always reach for is Peach Blossom by MAC. It’s not a completely nude shade as it has a tint of pink and shimmer in it. If, like me, you prefer to go for heavy eyeshadow over brighter, prominent lipstick, then a nude shade is your best friend!

I hope you liked my lip picks for spring and summer! Let me know if you have any of these products or which ones you would have added to my line up!

3 Ways To Wear A Kimono!

I own only one Kimono in my wardrobe but love it dearly because it goes with everything and looks really stylish! This year I am definitely going to be stocking up on them as they will be perfect for when i go away, New Look have challenged me to showcase three different ways to wear a kimono. In this post I will be showing you how you can wear a Kimono for Casual Days eg The Office, On Holiday and at Night whether this is party or a fancy date! p.s i have done some pretty fancy graphics :)

Casual Kimono Look

Beautysets - CASUAL KIMONO LOOK

If you are planning on wearing a Kimono out shopping or to work, then you don't want to wear one that is too bright and in your face instead try and keep it subtle but still the main focus of the outfit. It might be all black but Monochrome is chic and really sophisticated. Pairing it all with a simple gold watch will just bring it all together.

On Holiday

Where To Buy| Kimono - £19.99 Playsuit - £24.99 Navy Sandals - £24.99 Satchel - £49.99

When on holiday you want to be comfortable yet look half decent, and white is a stunning colour for the summer, as soon as I saw the playsuit I knew that it would look great with a bright Kimono and I think on a human it would stand out. You will look amazing and still feel comfortable, there is also the option to take this into the evening my changing up the sandals for heels and a clutch bag. Accessories being all in blue brings out the colour's in the kimono.

Evening Attire

Where To Buy| Kimono - £14.99 Keyhole Dress - £17.99 Shoes - £22.99 Earrings - £5.99
Ring - £4.99
Any of the two outfits could also be worn at night just have to change up a few things, but this one I have specifically put together for a night out! A black dress is a staple piece in any women's wardrobe, so why not dress it up with a bold kimono that can act as your jacket for the night, some chunky jewellery and some killer heels!

What do you think of Kimono's are you as obsessed as I am?
New Look have a whole range of Kimonos on their website and in-store, to view the full range check out this link

5 Things: Revision Tips

Here are 5 EASY AND SIMPLE Revision Tips to Help you during this busy exam season!
Revision Tips

1. Try not to revise for hours on hours, do it in short spurts of revision which are around 30 minutes or so as these are going to be the most effective. Your concentration goes after about an hour and you will be spending the next hour creeping on Instagram so take a short break that is timed around 5-10 minutes.
2. Study in a comfortable place, whether this be your bedroom or even your dining room whatever suits you. Stay in a place that has no distractions or keep them away eg you phone, maybe even turn the wifi off!
3. Use different techniques to make your notes, we all have our own way but sometimes it gets a little bit repetitive and your brain becomes used to it so switch it up use mind maps, notes or even flashcards and use fancy stationery too .
4. It is much easier said than done but please don't try to get yourself too stressed out, if you find something difficult or find something in your notes that you don't remember then ask someone, or even my new favourite go on to youtube and watch a video about how to solve a problem - it's like a virtual lesson!
5. Believe in YOU. Never say 'You Can't Do It' because trust me you can, all it takes is a little bit of self encouragement and power yourself through it.

Revision Essentials

Revision Essentials

It's currently exam season and millions of us out there are going through thousands of emotions, I am one of those and am taking a break from the world of blogging but I have a few posts ready and waiting for you so don't worry about it. Today, I am talking about the essentials you need when revising from stationary to food!

Revision Essentials
First thing that everyone has to have a stash of is colourful things, fine liners are my number one friend you have a range of colours that allow you to make notes in different colours and it makes it easier to see what notes are where so you know what to look at in a rush. Let's be honest they also make everything look really pretty. Something that I have also been doing quite recently is starting to use post it notes the square form and the little strip ones that come in a dispenser like mine or on a pad, they allow you to write small prompts and add on notes to your current notes. Highlighters are also amazing if you want to make certain things stand out to you, like formulas and definitions.

Revision Essentials

Then we have the notebooks my favourite thing to buy (I'm a stationary geek), these basic ones are from Tesco a great place to buy all things pretty and simple. For £2 you can get the normal notebooks in different colours, I opted for a black and bright pink so that I can organise notes by units, one for unit 1 and 2 and the other for 3 and 4! The other style of notebooks that are great for revising are the project books that come with dividers inside, each section enables you to split your notes up into different categories or sub topics - this will make life a lot easier.

Brain Food + Breaks
When you are revising it is vital that you make time to have a break, whether this is every hour or every 20 minutes go out of the room and give yourself a breather. You won't be able to concentrate for a long period of time and also try not to keep yourself trapped in one room for the entire time because trust me you will get bored.
Keep some snacks by your side as well in case you feel pekish, It is really had to avoid the 'bad food' like chocolate and crisps but try to eat more healthier stuff like fruit (buy the pre cut packets from the supermarkets which will make it much easier!) and nuts which are the best thing for your brain. Also drink plenty and plenty of WATER!

Good Luck if you have any exams coming up!

Review|Magnitone Lucid - Does it Work?

Magnitone Lucid

Luck was on my side when the Bloggers Love Gifting happened a few weeks ago, as I managed to bag the Magnitone Lucid in the colour of my choice! I just inched in at the last second, and a few days later I received a very exciting email that the brush was on the way to me! I became very curious about the brush and started researching into it, in this review I will be running through what the brush is, how it worked on my skin and whether or not it is worth the price tag.
Magnitone Lucid

Magnitone Lucid

What is the Magnitone Lucid?
The one I have is the travel size version and I think that this is a big enough size to use. The ML (short version) is a cleansing brush that gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin to remove the bad stuff such as dead skin cells, impurities and residues that might be sitting on the surface. It features two different settings, a daily cleansing one and a sensitive setting each one uses the brush head which includes over 1000 fast rotating bristles. There are two things that really stand out about the brush, the first thing is that it is suitable for sensitive skin yay! And the second thing is that is it not only portable but also waterproof, meaning that you can use it in the shower, which gives you no excuse. It also promises to give you softer and smoother skin within 7 days, so here is my journey for the week...
Magnitone Lucid

How to Use It?
-Select the mode you want, I have been using the cleansing one
- Use a cleanser, my current go to one is this one from Freederm
- Use for one minute every morning and night as part of your current skincare routine
- Let the 20 second timer tell you when to swap areas on your face
- The device will shut down after the minute is up, makes it easier to use
Magnitone Lucid

Does it Work?
Days 1 - 3 I didn't see much difference in my skin, but I used it in the shower and it really made me feel awake and fresh. The thing I found was that all the 'under the skin' spots that are painful as hell came out on to the surface, I was very shocked indeed as it has been forever since spots from under have come out.
Days 4 -7 Today (Saturday) marks a week that I have been using this machine, and the last 4 days I have seen a HUGE difference in my skin. The spots that came out earlier in the week have cleared and in general my skin has cleared up the most it has in months. It feels fresh, looks clearer than ever before and it is all down to the magical powers of this machine/brush. The cleanser I was using with it I have been using on and off for the past few months, but having the Magnitone has made me use it more and really focus on my skincare routine.

It takes 1 minute to use every morning and night, your life will be changed forever - trust me. It is also very easy to use, one button and voilĂ ! I am going to be carrying on using the Magnitone forever and ever until it dies on me, it is also perfect for travelling and I will be taking it away with me to use due to the convenience of the brush.

And there you have it a little diary/review of my experience with the Magnitone Lucid! It promises to make your skin feel alive and the 7 day guarantee is a FACT!! If you are in the market for a new cleanser brush then I highly recommend looking in to buying yourself the Lucid. Check out the discount code below to nab 20% off!
