Diwali or Festive Makeup

Happy Diwali to those who celebrate! Every time we get to this time of year I really start to think about how quickly time is going. This year I am spending Diwali (today 11th) with my flat mates going for a lovely meal and then with the family at the weekend. Very odd. I love showing what I did for my make-up and the aim was something pretty yet bright! I based everything around the dress which is the Dhalia dress, very pretty and summery but in the evening is going to look amazing. There are hints of pink and red coming from the flowers on the dress so i decided to keep that as the theme and went for that colour on my lips. The shade Date Night is from Seventeen* and is a lovely pinky colour but to amp it up I added the red from the All Out Lip Palette* which looked amazing! Because the lips and dress were so bright I went with a warm glow to the face, starting with my trustee L'Oreal Foundation, L.A Girls Concealer and Seventeen Contour Kit*. Summer might be over but I like my skin to have a bronze colour to it. I am also LOVING highllighting, why it has taken me so long to get on board I have no idea but it looks gorgeous on the skin and lasts all day, for this look I used the MAC Soft & Gentle.  Then we go onto the eyes for this I used the Seventeen Easy on the Eye Palette* which is full of smoky, dark colours. The palette also comes with a primer and cream shadows to help keep your eye make-up on all night long, I only touched the bottom row of colours. Followed by the smallest amount of Falsifeye Mascara*, I love this mascara to bits that I am now running low so saving it for special occasions.

And that is the whole look finished! I wanted something super simple, easy and yet striking. I love the purple on the eyes and the red lips it works really well with my dress.

Hope you enjoyed!

Bare Minerals Stoke of Light Eye Brightener Review

This is a eye brighter, not technically a concealer but I'll be calling it that anyway! Upon first use I noticed straight away that this is not a product that I could use on it's own to brighten up my under eye area, I have to use a heavy duty concealer underneath (L.A Girls Pro Concealer) and then dot this at the bottom of my circles and blend. The consistency of it is very thin yet has a creamy and blendable formula - match made in heaven. It is very sheer and that's why it is a brighter only not a cover up. Leaves a fresh and awake glow to your eyes!

Now lets talk about the applicator. It is a dofer which is typical for a concealer, however it is ever so thin. I've interested a picture of the side so that you can see what I mean, I find it bizarre that it can be so thin but this helps to apply it under the eye as it can get right up near the tear duct. It is also a very flexible brush that helps with the application.

One thing I have learnt that this does not double up as a highlighter or concealer, it is best for the under eye only. Overall, I give this concealer a 4/5!

3 Years On - Am I Doing it Right?

This is a very impromptu post as it dawned on me today (friday) that the 8th November is a special day! Its 3 years since I started Class and Glitter! What?! Its crazy to think that from starting something where I wanted to just share my thoughts has now become a big part of my life. I love blogging and everyday I think of something new and exciting to do based on it.

The amount of crazy opportunities it has given me is insane and this next month and December is even crazier and you will find out very soon why. Writing this post I am thinking to myself, what have I done right that has enabled me to carry on for three years? Why do people read what I write? Why do brands want to work with me? I don't think I am doing it all right, but do you know what WHO CARES!

I just want to thank you all from the bottom of my lipstick filled heart for taking the time to read, follow, comment and interact here on the blog or even over on any of my social media channels. I have met some amazing people through the world of blogging and feel thankful that I get to do so many exciting things!

I feel I also need to thank Royal Mail, for putting up with all these years and delivering all the parcels! To celebrate I am running a giveaway over on twitter, which you can find here - be sure to enter its international and ends in a months time right near christmas!

What's On My Bathroom Shelf?

What's On My Bathroom Shelf

I really want to do a university room tour but am not 100% happy with it yet as it is brand new and I am still figuring where I want things to be. But the space that I am happy with is my bathroom, its a simple wet room but just above the sink is a shelf full of my beauty goodies.

The Essentials
One the left hand side we have the items that everyone has in their bathroom. Deodorant something I am very fussy about, it has to work and it has to smell nice too and Dove never disappoint. Fun fact i came to university with 3 bottles so that I am prepared. Toothpaste and a toothbrush for cleaning my teeth of course, aquafresh is the best toothpaste out there for an everyday basis in my opinion. The last essential I have kept in my bathroom is a body mist, these act as a air fresher for me as well as the spray that I apply after drying myself off in a bid to keep me smelling nice all day. I apply body butter outside of the shower hence why it isn't shown here.

Skincare
The neat freak inside of me has decided to keep everything in the order that I use it and the process starts with the Garnier Micellar Water to remove all my make-up with the tiniest cotton pads in history, The I apply something I picked up in Dubai but is also available on Ebay it's the Baja No Marks cream, this is meant to help with the reduction of marks left after acne and even out the colour. I use it every night after cleansing and it really calms my skin down and helps with the marks. On alternate nights I use the Skin Therapy Oil from Palmers which restores the moisture back into my skin and smells amazing. In the red pot are my retainers, which look right at me so I know that I have to wear them. Lastly, is spot treatments. Both are completely different as I use them at different times of the spot procedure. Sudocrem works best on my skin when a spot is out, red and sometimes painful - it dries it out and assures me that I won't be concious about it all day. Then there is Panoxyl which is a lot stronger and great to get those under the skin spots and anything that is creeping up, but not quite there yet. Together these create a recipe for disaster so I don't apply them all at once otherwise my skin would be on fire.

There's what is on my self, very simple but all things that I need either in the morning or the night. Having them in one place and at reach is great when you are half asleep on a night. What's on your 'bathroom shelf'?
