Dealing With Heartburn on Holiday

First Things First - What is Heartburn?
Irritation usually in the throat/chest area due to
stomach acid and can cause you a great deal of discomfort. Eating too much and certain foods such as citrus fruits, tomatoes and drinking coffee can cause heartburn. If you know how to deal with it then you won't be getting it!
Now for my Top 5 Tips!

Tip 1 - Time

The most important thing to remember is to take your time when you are eating your food, if you rush you are going to be facing the consequences later. By taking one mouthful having a short rest and then another you aren't forcing food into your body too quickly, and this will help to avoid any heartburn later on.

Tip 2 - Amount

The amount that you choose to eat will also affect your heartburn and can cause the symptoms, instead eat in small amounts along with the tip above about time you should be able to get through you holiday without any problem.

Tip 3 - Move

Whilst you are away and do start to suffer from heartburn or even indigestion, then your best bet is to move around and keep going. If you stay sat or decide to have a lie down then you are just making it worst and in fact encouraging your heartburn to come and haunt you.

Tip 4 - Clothes

If you do feel everything is getting tighter and uncomfortable then change into something more comfortable, for example a maxi dress or even your pyjamas! This will help you tackle the burning sensation and you won't feel restricted.

Tip 5 - Aloe

This tip is more of remedy that you can try rather than something you can do, and that is to have some aloe vera juice. It is a drink that is readily available in health shops and an absolute life saver for us all. It is traditionally known to sooth burns and does the same thing for your stomach when you drink it, it is recommended that you have about 1/2 cup before a meal (up to you of course) and then this should soothe your stomach and help you out.

There you are, 5 simple and easy tips to help you deal with heartburn when away on holiday! They don't take much at all and will help make your holiday go as smooth as possible!

July Favoruites| Beauty, TV & More!

AUGUST? AUGUST? HOW ARE WE ALREADY IN AUGUST? It is so cliché saying I can't believe how quickly this month has gone, but in all seriousness where? Here are my July Favourites!

July Favoruites| Beauty, TV & More!

When I went to Germany I needed a face SPF that didn't stick to my face like glue and this was the one. It is a really thin formula and applies to the skin amazingly well, it sinks into your pores and fine lines as well to give you a overall matte look - doubling up as a primer too for the oily skin girls out there!

This body butter jsut smells like summer! It is so rich and sweet that when you wear it the smell comes off as though you are wearing a perfume. I haven't gone through this as quick as I have my other body butters from TBS because the smell can be a little bit sickening at times.

After months of searching for this Nicole kindly gifted it to me as a birthday present! The Little Mix eyes palette has been raved about since it came around because for the little  price you are getting 6 shades that are buttery, pigmented and long lasting. I really love the gold shade in here as an all over lid colour.

These two face products I have paired together as if I don't use one, I don't use the other! Why? Well because the cool undertones of the contour compliments the rose gold blusher really well and together they look divine.

The lipstick I have  been going back to over and over again this month is MAC's Please Me which is a stunning pink nude (of course it is!). It is a matte formula so it lasts all day and despite my intial thoughts of it been drying on the lips with plenty of lip balm underneath it goes on fine.

I do not know why I haven't mentioned these before because they are life changing. These magic nail drops work in a wonderful way, you apply a drop using the pipette on to your wet nails and allow it to soak in for about 5 minutes. Afterwards, your nails will be dry. Genius and A Life Saver!

The TV Favourite this month has been Criminal Minds, I am currently trying to catch up on all the seasons as I seem to have started from the latest series. Another one I have been loving is Nashville, so much drama! And one that has just started back in the UK is Devious Maids, full of drama, gossip and love - can't get enough!

What have you been loving this month??!

What I've Been Loving - Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

Finding a base that is lightweight yet gives you coverage is hard, I used to love the L'Oreal True Match but it is now clinging to the dry patches. I decided to try something new, a very old product but like always I am late on the bandwagon it's the Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream. I would have never even thought of trying this if it wasn't for Emily (aka EmilyLoula, make sure you check her out!). She has a special power that persuades me to buy things and when I saw her tweet about it, I asked it if it was worth it and she loves it - an hour later I went for it!

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

I went with the shade Rose Beige which is the second to last darkest shade, it is the perfect match for my skin, the swatch looks really light but once rubbed in it is exact! The main thing that makes this CC Cream different to anything else is the 3 different pigments:
> APRICOT pigments > anti-fatigue
> GREEN pigments > anti-redness
> WHITE pigments > anti-dark spots
Upon my first application I noticed that it had in fact cancelled out my redness and dark spots which is just amazing as nothing but concealer usually does that. The CC Cream is very light weight, and with only one even layer I was more than happy with the coverage, it can be built up for a fuller coverage but I don't think there is no need.
The only that bothers me is the scent, it smells like there is perfume in there but my skin hasn't reacted to it which is very surprising in deed! SPF is only 15 not making it ideal for holiday or to wear in the sun unless you wear a extra SPF underneath.

Would I buy this again? For Sure! It is the best light base I have tried that works on my skin and it looks like Bourjois is becoming my new favourite brand...Have you tried this CC Cream?

Travelodge London Heathrow Central Review

Last Monday the family and I headed down to London to begin our holiday adventure, and it all started with a night over at Travelodge Heathrow Central, which is located right next to Heathrow airport with shuttle bus facilities.

Getting to the hotel was very easy and when you get closer to it you can see the bright Travelodge sign and the multi storey car park that is attached. I have been to a great deal of hotels in my life, and Travelodge style ones when we go away, but this one was fancier than the rest it looked beautiful from the outside and it was inside as well.

The Room

For the four of us the best option is a family room, this comes with a double bed, and two single pull out beds, which are a lot comfier than they look at first – I was well rested in the morning. Many Travelodges now offer king size beds in the rooms if you want to upgrade. We were however missing bedding for the extra bed, and the extra bed wasn’t set up so when someone came to check on us we told them and within five minutes we had our bed set up with fresh linen.
After we all got settled at around 11pm, we were absolutely starving! My mum and brother headed to the bar to see if they were still serving food and to our surprise they were – pizza! Unhealthy I know especially right before we go on holiday but oh well. After eating, talking and having a hotel room drink we went to bed.

The Bathroom

The thing I love about going to hotels to stay is the bathroom! I love seeing what it’s like and how it is to use. This bathroom was smaller compared to the room but came fully equipped with a bath, shower, sink and toilet. Being a shower girl this one was amazing and very powerful it definitely woke me up, and the four of us managed to go in and out without any worries.

I seem to be very excited in this post but this is the last time I promise! Food. How can you not get excited? At Travelodge you can everything that your heart desires, they have cereal options from Weetabix to coco pops. A full English option which I think many people tend to go for consisting of both vegetarian and meat options. Then you have your little things like jot drinks, fresh juices, bread, croissants and tiny jam pots and Nutella!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the London Heathrow central hotel, it felt nice ti have a break before a 18 hour flight and it is so much more convenient when you have an early/late flight. Even though at first the room wasn’t ready for js, we got dealt with straight away and the staff were very helpful.
