Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez UK Launch & Review

My recent trip to Italy was exciting for many reasons; the top was being able to find Rare Beauty in Sephora. There wasn't much as it was going to launch early this year, however I managed to find mini sets near the checkout and squealed. It has now been confirmed that Rare Beauty will be launching in the UK this month at Space NK. I am so excited to get my hands on more from the brand, as these little bits are amazing!

Rare Beauty is a brand by actress and singer Selena Gomez. The brand is all about embracing inner beauty, as much as it about self-expression. Her range has been in the USA and other countries for a while now, with the UK launch in February it really is exciting. Celebrity brands aren't always the best, but there are some gems and this is one of them.

I bought myself two of the Selena's favourites sets from Sephora and if they are anything to go by, this brand is going to do so well in the UK. SPOILER ALERT: I love everything and my Wishlist of what to buy from the full collection is getting longer and longer.

Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream in Courage (top swatch).
This is best described as a warm, mauve with a semi-matte finish. It really is like a soufflé.
When I first applied this shade, it was definitely looking lighter by a considerable amount compared the swatch.

The consistency of this lip cream is very lightweight and smooth. I love how it spreads easily across my lips and that adding layers gives more of a full coverage. The formula reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, as it is smooth and buttery. It doesn't emphasise my lip lines and the whipped formula doesn't cling to any dry patches.

Ambition

The smaller of the two and the bottom swatch in the above photo is a set exclusive. It is much darker than courage and doesn't need as many layers to become the colour it swatches. I'm not a fan of this shade on me as its too cool and dark. However, I love mixing the two shades together to achieve an almost muted brown nude. Its the perfect combination!

The second bundle from Rare Beauty is probably my favourite of the two and one I am really glad I picked up as it contains some of the famous products I have seen making their rounds on the internet. This is a four piece set that contains a blush, highlighter, lip creme and mascara. Great value if you ask me as they are pretty decent sizes too.

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Joy

I love the names of all the products - so cute!

'A weightless, long-lasting liquid blush that blends and builds beautifully for a soft, healthy flush. Available in both matte and dewy finishes.'

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I am really having a blush moment. I love it so much more to bronzer and I am finally finding formulas and techniques that work for me and my face shape. This liquid blush is STUNNING. Joy is a beautiful summer shade - muted peach. The blush collection from Rare Beauty contains both matte and dewy shades. Joy is a dewy formula and it is beautiful

Nothing compares to this formula, it is so airy and lightweight. I love how easy it is to blend with just your fingers or a blush and the tiniest (tiniest) dot goes a long way. I've worn it on its own and layered with powder blush on top and both ways look mesmerising. It gives the skin such a glow and I love.

Positive Light Liquid Luminizer

'A silky, second-skin liquid highlighter that creates an instantly dewy, buildable glow while also nourishing skin so it looks on the bright side all day.'

Remember when highlighter was the biggest craze? I was obsessed, until one day I just stopped wearing it and fell out of love. I still keep my collection of them and hope to fall back in love but its rare I pick one up to wear.

Liquid highlighters are not a product that I tend to gravitate towards, I have such oily skin the last thing I need is a oily formula on me. These luminizers are different! So different and so spectacular. The formula blends nicely into the skin and that it gives more of a sheen to the skin, healthy, glowy and perfect. It lasts well on my oily skin without being set. I love.

Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara

I seem to be going through a mascara splurge at the minute. I have many on rotation and really enjoy applying and wearing.
This really is a product that has been made for every single lash type out there. I love that it lifts, lengthens and curls all in one. What makes this mascara stand out of the crowd is the brush, It is a combination of long and short bristles, something I have never seen or used before. The long bristles are for length and the short to add volume. When applied, you get the perfect amount of product to create gorgeous lashes.

Inspire Matte Lip Cream

The same formula as mentioned above just a very different shade to the nudes and mauves. Inspire is a bright red and very classic. Even though, its a bright formula it works just the same.

As you can see, I am a huge fan and so happy about the entire brand launching here in the UK. I have my eyes on the foundation and concealer, more of the liquid blushes and so much more!

Will you be checking out Rare Beauty?
