The Diwali Face

Today is Diwali! Happy Diwali to all those who celebrate, wishing you another year of happiness, success and all things bright! I love this time of year, not only is the food amazing and the clothes you get to wear so pretty but time spent with family is timeless. We're going to a Diwali party this weekend, I finally managed to find something to wear yesterday (talk about last minute!) and it's pink and pink, all sequins and some gorgeous rose gold jewelerry. So, I'm thinking for makeup to go with something glowy, glittery and very much me. This is a trial run that I had and I think it will all go to plan, using these products!

FACE//

I am loving this as a two in one product, it gives me just the right amount of hydration without feeling greasy and then primes my skin ready for makeup. It isn't the best at helping with shine, but the foundation I have chosen to use, keeps oil at bay so this is perfect.

Trying to keep it short and sweet with the mention of this foundation, as my full review went live a few days ago. This is my current go to, for when I want a full coverage, flawless base. It gives me the perfect amount of coverage without looking or feeling cakey and lasts all day. As this is a night event, the flash on everyone's camera will be pretty much preset - this has no flashback, making it perfect for events such as these.

Colourpop Concealer & Rimmel Concealer
It is worrying me, how quickly I am going through this concealer from Coloupop! The shade match is perfect and the coverage that it gives you is incredible, with using a foundation so heavy, I like to keep concealer at a mimumum. But my acne scars, just don't stay away. By using the tiniest amount of this, I am able to cover what it slightly visible without it all feeling too much. The Rimmel concealer isn't my favourite out there, but I am determined to make it work! Applied under my eyes and then set immedianteyl after, has helped with the creasing and dryness of it.

Prima Glitters & Makeup Geek Shadows
I've included all the shadows in my z-palette currently as it is too pretty not to photograph, but the shades I will be using in particular are the four corners, which are from Makeup Geek (Cosmopoliation, Frappe, Creme Brulee, Sensous). Then the Prima Glitters in the middle, I have used a mixture of all three to try and attempt to create a cut crease. I wanted the glitter to be at the forefront of the whole look, who doesn't love a bit of sparkle. They seem to create this gorgeous iridesecent look - I AM IN LOVE.

Maybelline Big Shot
When I intially, planned this post the Big Shot mascara was going to be my choice, but as the week as gone on, I have been loving the Loreal Paradise mascara. So, it all depends on the mood that I am in on the night, or maybe even a mix of both?!

I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time in forever and that means using minimal to no eyebrow product at all, they seem to be sitting pretty well! I've also put some lashes on, these are the FleurdeForce with Eyelure ones in Fleur Loves. They're 3/4 so a lot easier to wear!

Rimmel Kate Moss Palette
As I am travelling home first, then to the party down south and then getting the train back up to university. I have no option but to pack light (well try). The trio sculpting palette is perfect for exactly this, it has a blush, contour and highlight all in one. Making packing so much easier, probably won't use the highlighter as I am taking a killer duo with me, but the other two products are amazing.

MUR Liquid Highlight
I love love love using this liquid highlight, I apply the tiniest little line on my cheeks and under my brows to give me that glow. I apply it inbetween powder and setting my face because it seems to work best on a base that has been set and ready to go.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt
Once I have sprayed my setting spray, I then go in with a powder highlight. This not only sets the liquid, but I find doing it at the very end makes it more intense and vivid. This little compact, it also perfect to keep in my bag for on the go and to check up on my makeup throughout the night.

UD All Night
I have the tiniest little bit of this left, it is very well loved and oh so very dirty. One spray of this and I know that my makeup is not going to budge all night, I take extra care when it comes to spraying the eyes as I don't want to move the glitter around but need it to set in place.

Of course you have to have several lip options, instead of a classic nude, which I really want to wear. I am thinking of a red lip, sassy and bold. The two I am torn between using are Avon Liquid Lacquer in Passion-it* and Colourpop's Bossy. Both are matte, so long lasting and have just the right undertone to look nice in the evening and I think will go perfectly with what I have planned to wear.

It is a lot of makeup when you think about it, but I can't wait to recreate the look and get all glammed up. I don't do it very often, so this is the perfect excuse!
