Styling Medium Length Hair

My hair is at its best at the moment, healthy, mid length and very easy to manage. I have straight hair, to the point where I can dry it upside down and it will still be straight. It is also very thick, so I have to go to the hairdressers every so often to get it thinned out, I usually have some layers put it in to help balance the weight out but find myself then hating layers when I want to do something with my hair - there is no winning. I am doing my hardest to grow it out for my graduation later on this year, which means keeping on top of the looking after it. I have also started actually styling it in different ways recently rather than just keeping it straight and these are the products I have been loving to use.

Top 17 Beauty Favourites

2017 went by as quick as flash, it sounds cliche as hell but time is going so quickly and I have no idea how to keep up! It was a busy year and this year is going to be getting even busier, just knowing that I have so many things lined up is making me both anxious and excited at the same time. After recovering from all the food over Christmas and lack of sleep, I am excited to get back on with the blogging. This is my very first post of 2018 and what a good one it is. These are my top 17 (for the year 2017) beauty favourites, I decided to only pick a number of things otherwise the post would be almost an essay and no one wants to read that much. There's some skincare, makeup and other bits that are very handy.

NYE Prep for the Lazy Girl

Don't know about you but I am still recovering from Christmas Day!! I say it every year but this year for sure, I have eaten way more than my stomach can take and have been absoutelyu spoilt rotten. So thankful for everyone around me, it makes it all so magical. Now the next occasion is of course New Years. There are some people that plan for the occasion for weeks, but little me over here is more of a last minute, get things together a few days before and well do it the lazy girl way.

12 Days of Frizz Ease: Dream Curls Styling Spray

How excited are people that it is now December? I am officially in full blown Christmas mood and slowly but surely am getting everything ready for the big day. In the countdown to Christmas, John Frieda have launched their 12 Days of Frizz Ease campaign, over 12 days this month, different influences (including myself today number 5) will be showcasing different products from their incredible line.

frizz ease on straight hair

Back in May of this year, which seems so long ago now! I tried out the shampoo and conditioner from this line (full review) and immediately fell in love. I've been using non-stop since it was introduced to me, my hair is so much smoother, shiny and sleek compared to when I use other products. The entire Frizz Ease range is great if you are wanting to achieve salon like hair at home for a fraction of the price. There are different products to give you a full haircare routine and let me tell you, it works wonders.

The newest product in my routine is the Frizz Ease Dream Curls Styling Spray. I have very stubborn straight hair, products such as these and hairspray are required to help the curls stay in place and last longer. After a few weeks of trialling it, I have a variety of different ways to use it. The first way is the night before I am wanting curls, by washing my hair using the above products from the line and applying this spray when my hair is slightly damp. I then run the hairdryer through it to slightly dry and add some volume and by doing this upside down, finishing it off by doing two french braids. I am awful at doing them but I have watched a lot of videos to learn the tips. The next morning, I unravel the plaits to reveal mermaid like waves. These last me about the whole day and that night I dampen my hair over the sink (so lady like) reapply the spray and repeat the process. So quick and easy to do!

The alternative, is washing my hair in the morning, applying the spray doing a rough dry with the hairdryer and then using the Instyler that I mentioned in my post on Saturday, it curls as well as straightens the hair and in so much less time than your average curlers. I love the way I can play around with the thickness and style of curl, in these pictures I have used this tool and achieved the mermaid style waves a braid would create but through using a tool. The styling spray might be aimed more at naturally curly haired people but even me over here with straight hair can still use it and force my hair to think that it is naturally curly, we all wish for something that we don't have and curly hair is mine. The styling spray controls the frizz that curls produce but without making the hair feel tacky and greasy, using it regularly has made an impact on how my curls sit and stay.

It is fair to stay that my love affair with the John Frieda Frizz Ease range continues for good reasons. If you have curly hair and need something to define them or have straight hair and need something to control them then this is for you! Be sure to keep a look out on social media for the other posts about the range and see what else might tickle your fancy!

The Office Party Look

Happy December!! What an exciting time of year and month for all things festive, expensive and of course party. It is now the time of year for christmas parties, get togethers and all other sorts of celebrations. I am having four christmas party type of events this month and then the work christmas do next month, it sounds daft to have it in January but Decemeber is so busy for everyone! This post is for those who have a event straight after finishing work or univeristy and have to dash straight into some party wear and look half decent. I have put together a very easy makeup look and hair do that means you can take it from day to night with the help of a few products and handbag heroes. I am all about being lazy and taking shortcuts so if this sounds like you... let's get going 💗

Everyday Makeup

My current makeup storage is a thin cabinet outside my room, which means that all my makeup isn't where I get ready. It has taken me some time to get used to it, but now I have a little section on top of my chest of draws that hoards the makeup that I wear everyday. It doesn't really change on a day to basis, other than the occasional switch up of lip colour and addition of eye makeup if I can be bothered. I give myself about 20 minutes in the morning to do my makeup and hair, so this is what I love to use.

Currently Loving

There are so many products that I am loving currently, some of which haven't had a mention on here ever! Monthly favourites fizzle in and out fashion as a blog post, so I thought of just choosing some of my favourite products at the moment and mashing them together in one post.
I find myself using the same products so often and to death, that I end up using things up before I have even had the chance to talk about them, hopefully I can keep making these types of posts!

Being The Girl Who Goes For It

''The past is your lesson. The present is your gift and the future is your motivation.'' Who doesn't love a good quote? I think that just reading something really motivating can change your whole mood, day or even the task you have at hand. I love positive thinking and everything that comes with it, a firm believer that what you aim/strive for is what you get and in life even though you get obstacles, never give up. This academic year (new year, new goals) I am going to become the girl who just goes for it, saying yes even when I'm nervous and saying no when it doesn't feel right.

Epibrow Ultimate Lash Serum - Does it Work?

Thick, strong and healthy eyelashes are eyeryone’s dream right? I am very lucky that I have reasonable eyebrows that are thick and natural. But when it comes to my eyelashes it is a different story completely. I have eyelashes but very they are stumpy and short. I've always read about DIY remedies on ways that you can improve them but the wimp inside of me never tries any.

About a month ago, I was sent a lash serum from Epibrow. Epibrow is a company that trains people in applying semi-permanent lashes and use the technology of micro blading. Recently they developed a product to help with eyelash hair for healthier look.

No More Boring Hair

My hair is something that I have never been very adventurous with, I let it do its own thing most of the time. It is also naturally straight and very stubborn, meaning that trying to do anything to it is practically impossible. After a recent trip to the hairdressers, where she got a bit crazy with the scissors and put lots of layers in, it was time to do something with my hair. She put the layers in such a way that if I don't set it then it looks awful. I have had to find ways to styling my hair quickly and nicely.

The Final Countdown

This blog has been through my entire education with me, well the important parts anyway. I started it when I was just beginning GCSE's and now I am still going with one year left at university. ONE YEAR, it was absolutely flown by, everyone did tell me this but I didn't believe them at all. In the past two years I have learnt so much about living on my own, managing finances, myself and of course my degree. As I come into my final year and lss than a month until I move back, it seems appropriate to take about the essentials for anyone starting this year. Everything from cutlery to bedding, I have you covered.

Long Lasting Everyday Makeup

It seems like forever since I've posted about the makeup I am currently loving, probably because I only ever use the same things on a everyday basis. Recently, I have changed it up a bit and started to use new products and after just a few days of using some of them, they have become firm favourites. This makeup look as a whole, is very long lasting and this is something that I aim for with having combination skin. Skincare obviously plays a big part in helping your makeup last, but the makeup you apply equally plays a part. Grab a drink as this is a long one...

The £20 Beauty Box You Need

Who doesn't love a box of beauty items? A box full of products to try before you buy and a little gift to yourself every month. I would love to sign up to the likes of Birchbox and Glossybox but hate the thought of committing to something, I'm more of a spontaneous person. So, the likes of QVC's Tili Beauty Box is more up my street. Its a limited edition box that comes out every so often and you aren't tied to any monthly payment. This box retails for only £20, included postage and you get a range of products stocked by QVC, meaning that you can Try It and Love It (TILI) then buy on the site.

Frizz Fighting Trio

John Frieda Frizz EaseThere are a few beauty things that I am really bad at, one being looking after my hair. It never really occurs to me that I need to look after it, a trip to the hairdressers only happens when I have time and can remember. Products wise, I don't tend to use many things due to not knowing what is best for my hair and what isn't. These past few weeks, I have testing out three products from the John Frieda Frizz Ease range*on my very straight, thick hair. Who knew that frizz targeted products would actually help and make a difference.

Running Late Routine

Everyday, I see people who have spent a reasonable amount of time in the morning putting themselves together. Whether it be perfecting the winged liner, wearing the knee length boots with a thousand and one laces or creating that super sleek straight hair.
If you’re one of these people, then hats off to you because where on earth do you find the time?

I'm definitely a morning person over night owl but in the sense of ...

1. Hitting the snooze button a thousand times over
2. Using simple and multi-purpose products to make me look alive
3. Having to eat breakfast on the way to university or work

The Current Favourites

Really had no idea what to call this post, it isn't really a monthly favourites as they don't seem to be a thing on here anymore/it's not the end of the month. So I guess more of a currently loving at this moment in time post?! Hopefully, I can come up with a much better title than that...they are by far the hardest part about writing a blog post - anyone else agree? I've been loving so many products lately and just had to shout about them!

Getting Ready For Spring

This post is not appropriate at the moment with Storm Doris happening in the UK, my clothes are soaking wet through and my hair has battled through the wind but I can't be the only one that is loving the brighter mornings and evenings? There's something about light when you wake up or go home that gives you this boost of motivation, compared to the dark that makes you want to cosy up in bed and do nothing, even though this does sound very nice. As we come to the end of February (CRAZY!) and the start of spring is around the middle of March its time to switch things up and get ready for the bright colours, pastels and gorgeous flowers.

The Glam Face & DIY Surprise Party

Two weekends ago was the most stressful weekend of my life, my mum turned 50 and as a family we took it upon ourselves to host a surprise party. She had absoutely no idea, until the moment she walked through the door and we shouted SURPRISE. The look on her face was priceless, it was such a great night and its crazy that we actually pulled it off.

The most important parts of the night for me, were the decorations because the venue was bare without anything. Then of course my makeup, I obviously needed to look the part as the daugther of the special person and had my makeup planned out for weeks. I managed to do an entire face in the dark with the tiniest mirror in just under 10 minutes, proud doesn't even cut it!

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation First Impressions

Its a bit L'Oreal crazy on the blog at the moment but they are killing it base wise and I just have to try and buy everything! Through Ebay I managed to get my hands on the US version of the Infallible Pro-Matte foundation (full post) as well as the Pro-Glow (coming soon), but next on my list was their newest release the Infallible Total Cover. As per usual, the US had it first and then I saw on Kaushal's youtube that it was coming over here really soon, since then my eyes have been looking out for it. Last friday, on a random trip into Superdrug, I spotted them just as they were being put out!
