Aumtum Picks; Berry + Nude Lips

Aumtum Picks; Berry + Nude Lips

Another Autumn Picks for you today, if you missed my previous one then make sure to check it out here.  I've done nails and it makes sense in my mind to now do lips, in the Autumn I love wearing Berry colours and deep reds but as you can guess by the title I also wear nudes? Is that allowed? Well, I do and I am sure so many others do.

Aumtum Picks; Berry + Nude Lips

In the order of the swatches above;
2True Lipgloss// I have no idea what shade this is but this lip gloss is less than £2, and its an plum shade and looks amazing in the winter time. If you want something that isn't too heavy in colour so you can still wear it even if you are scared of bold lip colours.
 - MUA Matte in Wild Berry// This is such a gorgeous colour and an amazing formula. This was my most worn lipstick last year and even though it looks like a berry colour in the tube (very deceiving) it comes out this lovely deep pink colour and is warm toned. I wouldn't say it lasts all day and is awful when you have dry lips it looks so flaky.
- Bourjois Rouge in Nude-ist// This is by far my favourite from the whole range, and I think will look perfect in this season because when its on the lips I think it looks really deep and lovely. I won't ramble on for too long because i just love them ok.
Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait// Now on to the nude colours, this one is slightly a pinker nude and is great for you non daring girls. This time of year, its a lovely colour to wear everyday and at night and these are so moisturising too.
Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry// Now, my favourite of the bunch and one I will wear the most this year. This matte balm is a muted red/brown shade and looks natural on the lips even if it looks scary in the tube, the formula is also amazing and very long lasting I suggest you certainly try it out!

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2| Review+Swatches

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

Last week I was very easily tempted into buying the Naked 2 Basics palette because the colours looked a lot more wearable for me, Then I saw on twitter that the lovely lot over at Cohorted had it going for a fraction of the price! And I managed to get it just before they all went and it arrived just a few days later and the first thing I did was take a photo of it and swatch it for you lovely lot because I have this habit of not touching products until they have been photographed.

The Packaging
I don't have the first Basics palette so I was unaware of just how small this palette is!! And its safe to say that it is the size of my palm, which makes me love it more because for travelling and carrying it around is perfect. It also comes with a mirror which is always a bonus for all travel like things, I did however struggle opening it and ended up using my teeth - oops!

The Shadows
For me UD know exactly how to do eye-shadows, they have it sorted and better than that they do matte shadows the best compared to any other brand I have ever tried. The shadows are so buttery and soft, the pigmentation is amazing and applying them makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Skimp – nude satin
Stark – nude-pink matte
Frisk – warm grey matte
Cover – purpley-brown matte
Primal – brown matte
Undone – deep smokey brown matte

Overall
I love, love this palette not just the size but also the colours of the palette as they are very wearable and for me easy to apply on just a daily basis but also if i was going somewhere because you can really smoke it up! Let me know if I should maybe consider buying the first one as well. i am very easily convinced!

Autumn Primark Haul

I did a tiny little bit of shopping in Primark the week, even though I went in with the mind set of buying lots of things I didn't because it was crazy and I just wanted to get out! The things I did pick up however have filled up that little bit of extra space in my wardrobe!

The first place I went to was the shoe department, for some new wide foot flat pumps as mine are on the verge of collapsing! Primark have the cheapest ones compared to anywhere else in the world and even though they don't last very long, they are very very comfy!

I then picked up some more nails and if you saw this post, then you will know that I loved the first packet I got and it was a no-brainer that I would be picking up some more. This time the patterned ones didn't appeal to me and instead I went with the plain coloured ones!

Like I said, Primark was very busy and so I decided not to spend so much time looking around the busy areas and instead just picked up two things for myself. The first thing on the left is one of their basic t-shirts that has a lovely spotty pattern on, along with long sleeves so perfect for this time of year! The other buy was a patterned shirt, not only is the pattern very elegant and nice but the shirt also has a peplum feature and looks surprisingly flattering on me!

No doubt I will be going back to Primark soon to stock up on jumpers and boots!

Fashion Fair Gold| Review

Fashion Fair Gold

Today, I am reviewing some exciting things from Fashion Fair, they contacted me recently asking if I would like to work with them and of course I said! So, today I will talk to you about some of their products and you will also be seeing some more posts in collab with them very soon so do keep your eye out!
Fashion Fair Gold

Fashion Fair Gold|

Golden Chestnut Eye shadow - This is an oil free shadow, so for those of you like me who use primers forget them because you don't need one! I didn't use one in this picture above and it lasted all day on my face and I had two events on the same day, the formula of these are super creamy and very easy to apply and blend out. I used the gold colour as my main eyelid colour as well as putting some in the crease and it looked amazing!

Sam Fine Supreme Lip Gloss- Canary Diamond - This lip gloss is a beaut and if you love wearing gloss then this is one for your collection! This very transparent gold colour looks great on its own and on the top of other colours such as red and you will be really sparkly! This lip gloss is also not very sticky and doesn't create that glue like feeling that many glosses do.

Have you tried anything from FashionFair?

Make-up Organisation| Tips and Tricks

Make-up Organisation| Tips and Tricks

Before September came around I had to make sure that I gutted and cleaned every inch of my room - most importantly my makeup area. dun dun dun... but after plucking up the courage to do it I spent an entire Sunday morning tidying up the nooks and crannies of my makeup 'area'. Thought I would document my time and show you how I managed to do it all within a few hours.
I don't have the biggest makeup collection, but what I do have to doubles of everything and frankly things that I haven't worn in a really really long time.
Make-up Organisation| Tips and Tricks
I have the Ikea Chest Drawer thing, it has three draws and then this top section as well. In the first draw i keep all my makeup and skincare and then the top holds all my clear storage that looks really pretty. I am always getting things out to use and then am far too lazy to then put them back in the right place and then it leads to having everything everywhere and no room to breathe.
Make-up Organisation| Tips and Tricks
The first thing I did was empty all my makeup and skincare bits on to the floor and sort them into piles of stuff. Hiding in the corner is the two pots of my very dirty makeup brushes, along with lips at the top right, then face, cheeks, eye shadow, eyes and then skin. This made it a whole lot easier to see what I own and to start the next stage. This is the 'Clean and Get Rid Of Stage' here you need to seriously decide what is worth keeping that you will carry on using and the things that you haven't touched or can't remember about and bin those. I will admit that if you are a beauty lover like me, you tend to hold on to things because of the price, or the memories that come with it. But I was being really brutal this time!
Make-up Organisation| Tips and Tricks
Eventually, I managed to sort through everything and have my breakfast whilst doing so.The end result made me feel proud and very pleased with myself. The draw is now in different sections instead of all jumbled up. In the top left long box we have skincare, below that in the tiny box is full of 'more lip produtcs'.. In the two bigger boxes I decided to have a box full of eyes and various face products and then the other has all my base products and cheek products. Then a body butter, deodorant can, makeup bag, headphones and brushes (which should really be clean now!).
On top I managed to nicely organise my storage so that all my lipsticks/glosses/balms are together in height ish order. I have a thing about things that need to look right. All my nail polishes are sorted by brand (spy all the barrym gelly's!) and then the draws have the smaller eye shadow palettes in along with some perfume and nail care essentials that I need to use more.

Hope you enjoyed this different type of post!

The Ultimate Guide To Freshers Week

Top 11 tips for surviving Fresher’s week
The Ultimate Guide To Freshers Week
Starting university can be one of the most daunting things to go through. Moving away from your friends and family can be a scary time.

But it needn’t be as frightening as people make out. There are plenty of ways to ensure your move into uni halls go smoothly. Follow these top tips for surviving Fresher’s Week:

1. Make your room homely – Moving into somewhere new can be a very daunting experience. That first night in your new room can be an odd and unsettling one, especially if you are moving straight from home and all its comforts. Create your own little space by making your room homely, like your room at home. Put up posters, make your bed, create nice lighting and decorate your space with trinkets and memorabilia.

2. Keep your door open when unpacking – While you are unpacking and sorting out your room keep your door open. This will encourage people to stop by your room and start conversation as you will appear more approachable.

3. Keep treats in your room – Everyone loves cake! If possible, have cake or chocolate or sweets in your room and give them out to your new house mates. This will get the conversation started and you will come across as a nice person to live with.

4. Play music – Have some music playing which you are setting up your room. Play it loud enough that your new flat mates will be able to hear it in the hall but not so loud as to annoy them. Hopefully this will get conversations started as people will come in and ask about your music taste. Before you know it you will be discussing Biffy Clyro, Rihanna and Avicii!

5. Buddy up – Once you have met your flatmates, buddy up! It can be scary having to go and talk to new people without a friend by your side to back you up, so gather your flat mates and go chat to people. Suggest a house outing to a fresher event to try and get the conversation flowing.

6. Save a taxi number to your phone – Moving to a new city or area of the country means you don’t know your way around and probably know even less when under the influence of alcohol! Make sure you google a local taxi number and save it to your phone, but to be even more sensible, find a local taxi number from the Student Union as these will be recommended companies. At least if you get lost you can call a cab to come and save you from a 10 mile walk home!

7. Check fresher week schedules – With so much going on during Fresher’s week, it can be hard to keep up. Sign up to email notifications of events going on your campus and suggest events to your flat mates. Even if they aren’t keen to go, go along by yourself and chat to people – it’s the only way to make friends!

8. Condoms – Sometimes a drunken night can lead to a little too much fun… ensure you are prepared by carrying a condom or two. Not only do these prevent pregnancy (obviously!) but also the passing on of sexually transmitted diseases and vaginal infections such as BV.

9. Try to go to as many social events as possible – Try to attend as many events during Fresher’s week as you can. It may be tiring but it will mean that you are open to making friends and getting to know your campus and university.

10. Take your vitamins – With so many social events to attend, it is important to keep your energy levels up and your immune system strong. Taking multi-vitamins and supplements from Nutrition Centre will help keep your immune system strong. Try taking Nature’s Own Vitamin C Extra to help avoid the dreaded ‘Fresher’s Flu’.

11. Always take cash out with you when you go out – You don’t want to be the one everyone has to loan money to because you haven’t got cash on you. Make sure you carry enough cash on you to have a couple of drinks and be able to get home.

Find out more about getting the right vitamins for you on the Nutrition Centre! Also why not buy yourself a face mask from Montagne Jeunesse whilst you relax before you go out!

9 Months Later| NY Resolutions

 NY Resolutions

A few 9 months ago I set me self a few blogging NY Resolutions to stick by and see if I can get through them by the end of the year. I thought I would do a 'what have i done so far' type post to see what need to be done and what has been done. You can read the original post here but I am going to quickly go through what I have achieved.
1. Have my own domain - DONE! I am so pleased that this year I managed to finally buy my .com that I have been wanting for so long.
2. Relax about posts and not stress - Kind of! I seem to be able to stick to posting three times a week but slowly am finding it hard with school been a lot more demanding. Hence why I am now starting to post less but making the posts more fun to read.
3. Buy a tripod - No! Okay, so this still needs to be done and still need to find a tripod for my phone to sit on which makes it easier to take OOTD pictures and other ones in general. But I still manage to post more OOTD photos than before so that's a plus.
5. Improve Appearance - DONE! I am also very happy that I have got a nicer and neater blog design that looks so much more professional. My blog isn't ever going to look perfect but that is ok!

I am doing very well and hopefully by the end of the year all this will be DONE!
Have you achieved anything big this year?

The Primark £1 Nails!

The Primark £1 Nails!

I posted this exact picture on my Instagram a few weeks back and my oh my did I get come lovely comments, as well as people at work telling me how lovely these nails are. Many were surprised to know that they are actually fake and not real! I found these super easy to apply and to wear as for me they weren't that long, I was scared to use and them and hoped that they wouldn't pop off..but they managed to stay on my nails for a few days and I am glad I went with this pattern as its perfect for the summer. I would recommend going out and buying a pack, they have such a wide range of choice for you to choose from and are worth it for only £1!

The Neglected Ones .

The Neglected Ones .
I recently read this post over on Emily's blog, where she talked about 9 things she should really start using more and this lead me to think about what I need to use more and behold I found a few things that I really need to start using again!
Naked 1 Palette// Same as Emily, I was obsessed with this palette when I first got my hands on it..it was like my holy grail! Every day and night look I used to do had to have this palette in and since I bought other ones from UD and Sleek this had gotten a little rusty and I think its time I start using it again!
S&G Thick & Fast Mascara// I remember that Estée (essiebutton) mentioned this in one of her videos a long time ago and I decided to buy it and see if it was any good. It is such a nice mascara very thickening and for a long period of time I didn't use anything else beside it, but it seems that I have forgotten it exists!
Maybelline Erase Eye Concealer// I have used half of this bottle already but then for some reason I stopped. And I mean all of a sudden, the reason is still not know to me either but I have to start using it again because it does what it says on the tin and covers my horrible bags.
Rimmel Apocalips// Another one same as Emily, something else I had to have because everyone raved about them. They are amazing and last all day so when I bought them in Superdrug I applied it straight away, much after I hated them but loved them at the same time?! Why? Well, they are amazing in colour and the formula is great but on dry lips these are  big no no.
Avon Nail Brighter// Remember that Nail Challenge? Hmmm, yeah I gave up a few weeks ago and have not been looking after my nails at all. I spent a £5 on this bottle of brighter/strengthener and it worked wonders within the first week but then I stopped because I thought the job was done. Lesson to be taught...always keep using a product.

Obession|Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick

If you haven't yet fallen in to the trap of buying these lipsticks then let me warn you that this post might just make you. I am the biggest fan of all lip products, and lipsticks are the one thing that I always go back to time and time again because the pigmentation and lasting power of them is incredible! To add to the mix Bourjois have bought out my current go to favourite products to wear these 'Velvet Lipsticks' and there is no other/better word to describe it because they honestly feel like velvet on your lips.
It glides on smoothly on to the lip and with one stroke you have this intense bold lip colour (see swatch above). They need no time to dry and once they are dry they stay put all day and all night - literally overnight. I wake up in the morning with the colour still stained on my lips. They have a matte finish which makes me love them even more because you don't need to ever re-apply, or even blotch. I currently own four colours (in order of the swatches) Hot Pepper, Olé Flamingo, Frambourjois and then Nude-ist! That is four in total, probably after posting this I will no doubt buy more shades because they are just that great! Have you bought any yet?

*warning you will want to go back and buy more*

Getting Organised| Why Lists Are You're Best Friend

Why Lists Are You're Best Friend
Here is a guest post I did recently..
Lists. Such a simple word yet to me and many of you it can mean our whole life, yet there are some people that try to mentally remember everything when they don't need to! Make a list, whether it be on a scrap piece of paper, a notebook or even on your phone; they make all the difference. Here are a few reasons why they are about to become your best friend..
1. A great way to organise your information
If you don’t organize your information, it can be thrown everywhere even a notice board can look messy, but if you take some time to separate it out into different topics or categories it’s a lot less messier and easier to understand. If you're moving house then list what items will go into what room. Simple!
2. They provide a simple structure
If you have to explain something to another human then a list is the easiest way to explain what you mean without using all these fancy diagrams and confusing everyone to death. All you need is the topic of the list and that is it!
3. Plan out your day
If you have a busy day or even week ahead then create a list of what you need to do and order them in highest priority and be sure to do them first. You can break the list up if there is so much to do and remember to ALWAYS give yourself a break! If you have lots of things to do, its much simpler to tackle them in smaller chunks then all in one go.
5. Make a list about anything
Whatever job you may be doing I am pretty sure that there are things you need to do in work and outside of work, sometimes its the simplest tasks that we tend to forget. If you're a blogger like me, then I love writing lists of different post ideas ect to keep me on track. Along with general everyday to-do lists to help me live a easier life.
6. They can be fun too
Lists don't only have to be used for all the serious things in life, but also the fun things! I keep a list of all my tv programmes that I watch, I seem to have that many I have to keep track of when the new season airs in the autumn/summer time - without this long list then I would be lost.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this post, and be sure to check out my blog

What's In My School Beauty Bag? + Tips and Tricks

What's In My School Beauty Bag

Its here! The dreaded back to school week, after having 6 weeks of late mornings and late nights, sitting in my pjs till the afternoon. It has come to that time again where I have to wake up in the morning and actually look half decent! I thought for today's post on this Monday morning I would talk you through what is in my beauty bag that I keep in my school bag/handbag and some tips and tricks on looking fresh and feeling amazing all day!
Compressed Deodorant Can// If you haven't get tried these then get your self out of bed right now. These mini cans of deodorant are great for your school bag and handbag because they are so small. The same amount of product just in a smaller bottle.
Body Spray // An essential for me all the time, a small bottle of perfume or body spray has to be with me all the time because I hate smelling of sweat or my lunch and have to have something to spray when I am going to class.
Shine Absorbing Sheets// For all you shiny girls out there, make sure you buy your self a pack of shine absorbing sheets because they come in handy more than you think. If you can't get to the bathroom in time or don't have a mirror at hand then these are super useful to quickly just blot your face before going to school. For me they are great after I have walked to school - a sweaty looking Parie is not a pretty site. If you don't have these then just take some tissue and peel it in half so you are left with a thin sheet and there you go!
Powder + Concealer // Personally, these are the only two items of makeup face wise that I need. Not a big makeup wearer to school as it is so I only take with me the essentials and all important products in this case concealer to cover my bags and spots and then powder to make me look a little bit more alive.
Lip Balm + Lip Butter // In winter my lips are horrendous and I have to carry with me a lip salve or balm all the time to help me get through the day. Also, I pack with me a Revlon Lip Butter because they are sheer and so easy to apply in a rush and the nude shades are perfect for everyday school wear.
Dry Shampoo // If you do PE at school or any form of sports then I recommend keeping a travel sized bottle of dry shampoo with you because you might just need to give your hair a quick boost. Then tie it in to a messy bun or plait and you will look effortlessly gorgeous!
